Chapter 4

After 5th period I walk straight to my locker and find Ashton sitting there crying right by it. I become immediately worried.

"Ash, what happened?" I ask right away.

He looks at me; tear stained eyes. "Why didn't you tell me you were moving to New York?! How long have you known about this, how long have Michael and Calum known about this?"

"Ashton, I thought I told you about this. I told you all the day I found out 2 months ago. Why are you freaking out? I texted all of you at the same time. My god, Ashton. This is not you. You remember everything, why'd you forget this?!" I practically yelled, feeling pretty bad after the fact. "Sorry for yelling, Ashton."

He looks down. "Luke, I don't want you to go. We've been friends for forever now, we can't just "end" it. Why?"

"Ashton, my dads job is important so our family can have money to support us. I don't want me to go either. I don't want to make new friends, go to a new school. I want to stay here where my whole life has occurred."

"I know you do, Luke." Ashton looks up at him, barely any tears now. "I have something to tell you, too. Your the first one I will have told."

"What is it?" I ask freaked out a little because this is not the Ash I have known for as long as I can remember.

"I started getting headaches all the time and I just ignored them. But, then they started getting worse so I told my parents. My mom scheduled a doctor appointment to see what was wrong with me and my doctor said I might have long term memory loss which could probably turn into a cancer. I can hardly remember old memories. That's probably why I can't remember you telling me that you are moving. I have been pissed off at you for 2 hours over nothing. I am so sorry, Luke. I'm such a terrible friend. I don't know what to do. I might have cancer, one of my best friends is moving, and my life just isn't going to be the same. Luke, what do I do?" Ashton finally finishes.

"Ashton..."
