As we get into my car, Taylor sighs. "What's wrong?" I ask.

"I don't wanna go home. I haven't had this much fun since a couple years ago when my mom was in a wreck and died. My dad is always worried I'll get hurt, so he doesn't allow me to do very much. I had to beg him for this date."

I grab her hand, seeing a tear go down her flawless face. "There's nothing to worry about with me, baby. I will always make sure you are safe. And if anything was ever to happen to you, I will hurt whoever hurt you, no matter the consequences. Because, you know what. I'm not afraid to say that 'I love you.' Yeah, I love you already and nobody can take that from me. When I first saw your face, I knew you were the one. And I will not let you slip away from me."

As see more tears streaming down her face, I pull her into a comforting hug. "I love you, too, Luke. I'm just worried about what my dad will think."

"Don't. I will make him like me! you just watch." Realizing I'm still squeezing the life out of her fragile body, I pull away. She's calmed down with her tears now. I wipe the stray one away with my thumb and see her smile.

"Why are you so beautiful?" I ask her. I just don't know how somebody could be so perfect.

"I'm not, though. That's what I don't see. My beauty. I know it's there. I just wish I could see it." She replies.

I look at her, hold her hand, and say, "I'll make you see. just watch."
