After gathering my 5 books that hold all of the answers or clues to my homework and binder and jamming them into my bag, I close my locker and head out to the parking lot.

I find my rental car, but it is not the shiny black, dent free care it was when I went inside the school this morning.

There were so many things written everywhere, like "Suck my dick" or "Your gay, Blondie." The debts look like someone kicked the car. Why would anybody do this?

"It's probably because I'm the new kid." I say to myself.

I just have to ignore it for now, and drive home to ask my mum for the money to get the damages fixed before it needs to be returned.

••••••••••

About halfway home, I hear sirens. I continue driving home, knowing the will just pass by me.

I turn down Srechner St. and the cop follows, sirens sounding louder. I pull over so they will just pass me already. But, the pull over right behind me.

"Step out of the vehicle, and put your hands where I can see them." Says a middle aged man.

I look out the window that is now rolled down and ask if he's talking to me.

"Yes, now do as I have said and nobody gets hurt."

I open my door, close it, and put my hands in the air. "Now step away from the vehicle." I do as told, seeing the gun pointed at me.

"Sir, why have I been pulled over? In Australia, cops don't pull people over unless they are speeding, have drugs, or have done something bad."

"Well, this is New York and we don't do things like Australia. You must be new here. What school are you going to."

"Westbrink High School." I reply.

"The words on you car are unacceptable. And the dents look new. You may not have done this, but I will give you a ticket for disturbing the peace by driving this down the road in the condition it is in. I will have it towed, and I will drive you home."

I accept the ticket for $475 and get my backpack and phone before getting in the back of the cop car. The man turns on his sirens, doesn't ask where I live, and heads towards the center of the city. Away from my new house.
