I covered up the bruise with some light makeup.
Tom soon after took me down to the coffee shop again so I could get my mind off things.
As we both got our coffees, we sat in the seats where we met.
"I think I'm going to quit my job."
"Hm?" Tom looked up at me cutely. "Why's that?"
"I'm just not happy working there, and I think I should be happy with where I work. I mean, I'm twenty one years old. Shouldn't I be doing something I actually like to do?"
Tom nodded. "I'm sorry you're not happy."
His face suddenly lit up, and he smiled at me.
"What?" I asked, smiling back.
"There's a job opening to be my assistant, during filming and stuff. I could get you an interview if you want."
"Oh my god, that'd be amazing!" My smile grew bigger. "Thank you so much."
He chuckled.
"Of course. Hey, aren't you supposed to be at work?"
My eyes grew wide before I realized I was quitting anyways, and shrugged.
"I guess so."
I finished my coffee and got up.
"Well, time to quit," I said with a smile, walking out.
Tom followed next to me as we walked out and chuckled.
I stopped and turned around before crossing the street.
"Thank you again."
He nodded and gave me a friendly smile.
"No problem."

As I was driving off to work, I couldn't get Tom off my mind.
"Okay. So. I have Toms phone number, he's been in my apartment.. Oh my god this isn't real," I talked to myself, before shaking my head. "I'm such a fan girl."
Arriving at work, I got out of the car and took a deep breath.
'I can't believe I'm gonna quit.'
I walked towards the building, my anxiety shooting through the roof.
I slowly calmed down as the elevator went up, and arrived at the 3rd floor.
"Good morning Emma," The receptionist greeted me with a kind smile.
"Good morning Kylie," I responded, returning the smile.
I walked into my managers office.
"Emma. You're late," She pointed out the obvious.
I nodded.
"Well yes, but I have a good reason."
"Oh? And what might that be?"
"I'm quitting."
The rest of the office went quiet, as she stared at me in disbelief.
"Really? Why's that?"
"You," I replied, giving her a fake smile. "Goodbye."
I smiled at myself softly, turning smoothly and walking out.
As I walked out I waved to a few of my coworkers, the ones that had been nice to me.
"Goodbye, you guys."
I smiled all the way to my car, as I slid in and started it.
I put my head on the steering wheel and sighed, turning up the music.
'I can't believe I just quit.'

Walking into my apartment, I came home to find Steven on the couch.
His head perked up as I entered slowly.
He jumped off the couch, hugging me as I set my keys and purse down on the table beside the couch.
"I'm sorry, babe. I didn't mean to hurt you. It was wrong of me to accuse you, so I'm sorry."
I didn't really respond.
I'd heard it all before.
'I'll bet $10 he's gonna say "I got you something."'
"I got you something," He added, backing away from me, grabbing something off the kitchen table and handing it to me.
'Surprising.'
I opened the small box to reveal a heart shaped necklace, with two diamonds placed around it.
He had a lot of money, which is why he didn't have a job.
Yet I payed for the apartment and groceries.
He grew up extremely rich, so I just figured it was because he always had
someone else do everything for him, so I didn't really let it get to me.
"It's really pretty," I said, taking it out with a small smile.
He took it from my hand and I lifted up my hair as he placed it around my neck.
He turned me around smoothly and kissed me. I kissed back, not exactly realizing just how forced it was.
