(Lunchtime)

"Where'd you go?" Yan-kun asked. "Huh?" I looked at him while taking a bite out of my riceball. "You said, you needed to go somewhere, so where'd you end up going?" He repeated.

We were sitting in our usual spot on the roof of the school as we ate our lunch. "I went to the bathroom to clean up." I said.

"Clean up? What does that mean?" Yan-kun asked. "It was that time of the month." I lied. "Hey, I didn't need to hear that! Too much information! Tell that stuff to Ayano, not me!" Yan-kun shouted.

"You asked," I stated before taking another bite of my riceball. "Where is Ayano?"

"She's eating lunch with Budo." Yan-kun answered. "Then, shouldn't you be eating with Taro? You guys are dating, aren't you?" I asked.

"Of course we are... I'll see you in class!" Yan-kun quickly ran off while taking his lunch with him. I blinked a couple of times before continuing to eat my lunch.

I was alone again. You may think it's sad, but it's not. I'm actually happy. I'm happy because my siblings are happy. And since they're eating with their lovers, I should go eat with mine.

I packed up my bento and got up from the bench. As I was about to walk away, I bumped into my childhood friend, Osano Najimi. "Hey, Osano." I greeted.

"Hey. Why are you up here by yourself? I normally see you eating with your brother and sister." He mentioned. "They're eating with their lovers, so it's just me up here." I explained.

"Seems pretty lonely. Mind if I join you?" Osano asked. "I'm sorry, Osano. But I was actually just leaving. Maybe next time, okay?" I said.

"Where do you have to go?"

"Well..."

"Come on, Amaya. We don't hang out anymore like we used to. I even made something for you."

"You did?"

Osano blushed and looked off to the side. "Y-Yeah, I did. Here," He handed me a bag of cookies. "I started taking up a baking class and I made some cookies! I realized I made too much, so I'm giving you the extras!" He said.

"Ah, I see," I said, taking the bag and opening it. "They smell really good," I took a cookie, then took a bite out of it. "Wow, this is really tasty, Osano!"

"Really? You like it?" He asked, looking at me. "Mm-hm. They're delicious."

"Yeah, you should be grateful! I went through a lot of work to make those!" He boasted. "You definitely sound a lot like your sister. Like sister, like brother, I suppose." I mumbled before taking another bite out of the cookie.

Osano's POV

As I watched Amaya enjoy my cookies, I couldn't help but blush at how cute she looked. "Hey, you've got some crumbs on your face." I mentioned.

I blushed as I gently wiped the crumbs off her cheek. 'Damn it, why is she so cute?' I thought. I really have my sister to thank. Otherwise, I would've burned the house down without her help.

"Amaya, when do you think we can hang out again?" I asked her. "I'm not sure." She replied.

"How about tonight?"

"I can't tonight. I'll be busy."

"With what?"

"Homework."

I got the feeling she was lying. I know Amaya is seeing someone, but who could it be? There's no way it could be Amao, that guy from the Cooking Club. So, who?

I've confessed to Amaya in the past, but she never replied to my confession, nor did she reject it. How does Amaya really feel about me?

Does she like me more than a friend, or does she still see me as her bipolar, childhood friend?

"I've gotta go. Thanks for the cookies, Osano." Amaya said. She gave me a quick hug before leaving the roof. "Bye." I said, quietly.
