Twenty Nine: Broken and Incomplete

"Amaya, we're back!" Yan-kun called from the front door. I didn't reply as I was locked away in my room.

My blanket was draped over me as I was at the corner of my bed, my head leaned against the wall. "I'm broken again... Without Nemesis-kun, I feel nothing. I'm incomplete." I whispered.

I didn't let anyone into my room. For the rest of the day, I stayed in my room, not coming out for anything. I'm miserable with my Senapi. I'm nothing without him. I'm... empty.

(Monday)

"Yes, I'm calling in about my daughter, Amaya Aishi. I'm afraid she won't be able to come to school today. She's not feeling very well."

I listened as Mom informed the school that I wasn't coming to school. I had to lie to her and said I was sick. "Amaya, sweetie?" Mom asked, knocking on the door.

She opened it slightly before walking into my room. "How are you doing, baby? Are you feeling any better?"

I didn't answer as I stayed in the position I was in last night. Mom was extremely worried about me since I didn't leave my room at all.

"Amaya, I think you'll feel better if you take a nice, hot shower. I'll bring you up something to eat." She offered. I hesitantly got out of bed and went into the bathroom.

I stripped myself out of my clothes, then turned on the water. My head was tilted down as I let the water wash down my head and back.

My tears mixed in with the water, but no matter how much I cried, I couldn't get Nemesis-kun out of my head. He was all I could think about.

After my shower, Mom brought me up some food, but I didn't eat it. I heard Mom and Dad arguing about how I wasn't acting myself.

"Ryoba, we need to take her to a hospital! She's not acting like herself! This is exactly what happened back when she was a child!"

"She's fine! Nothing's wrong with her! Besides, those doctors won't help! They couldn't do anything for her back then, so what makes you think they'll do something now?!"

"Amaya's grown up now! There has to be a cure!"

"Amaya is fine! We don't need to take her to a hospital!"

I zoned out most of the conversation as I closed my eyes and dreamed of the times Nemesis-kun and I were happy.

(Tuesday)

It was the same as yesterday. I would eat or come out of my room for anything. No matter how many times my father tried to get me to eat, I refused.

My answer was always the same; "I'm not hungry."

Even Ayano and Yan-kun were concerned about me. "Are you and Nemesis-kun doing okay?" They asked.

I lied and told them we were just fine. I didn't want them to know that we broke up. Mom keeps telling me the same thing like she did when I was little.

"Some day, you'll find someone who will make you feel complete."

I did find someone, and he left me. All I have now is the darkness that swallows me every time I think about him. I don't have the mobility to do anything without him.

"Nemesis-kun..." I whispered. I couldn't cry myself to sleep anymore because I didn't have any more tears to shed.

(Wednesday)

Dad somehow managed to convince me to go to school. I slowly got dressed and trudged myself to Akademi High. I searched everywhere to look for Nemesis-kun, but he was nowhere to be found.

Did he transfer? Did he not come to school just to avoid me? Just thinking about makes my heart break.

During class, I couldn't focus on my work because Nemesis-kun was all I could think about. When it was lunchtime, I hid myself in the garden maze.

I too depressed to eat and I didn't know what to do with this broken heart of mine. The bell rang, informing I had return to class, but I didn't leave right away.

I waited a few minutes before getting up and walking into the building. I didn't make much of an effort to get to class as I dragged my feet along the floor.

"What are you doing in the hallway, Amaya?" I looked up to find Megamo standing a few feet in front of me. "You were supposed to be in class fifteen minutes ago." He stated.

I didn't reply as I slowly walked past him. "I'm nothing without him. I feel... absolutely nothing." I mumbled. I felt dizzy and weak as each step I took became blurry to me.

It didn't take me long to close my eyes and fall forward. "Amaya!" Megamo caught me before I could meet the floor.

"Just let me go. I just want to fall and continue falling..." I mumbled as my eyes were still closed. "What's gotten into you? Why are you acting like this?" Megamo asked with concern, but I didn't answer.

He picked me up and took me to the infirmary, then laid me down on the bed. "Nemesis-kun..." I whispered as I blankly stared at the ceiling.

"Are you okay?" Megamo asked. Again, my answer was silence.

"She probably just needs to rest. She has been out sick for two days. Go ahead and attend class. I'll look after her." Muja said. "Yes, ma'am." Megamo replied, and left the infirmary.

Muja took my temperature, then checked my blood pressure. "When was the last time you ate, Amaya?" She asked. "I'm not hungry." I stated, emotionlessly.

"But you look so pale. Are you sure you don't want to have a little something on your stomach? Maybe some crackers?" She asked, but I shook my head in denial.

Even during lunchtime, Muja tried feeding me something, but I refused. By the end of the day, I was let go and Muja had to call my parents to inform me of my health status.

I told her it was nothing to worry about and left the infirmary. When I got home, I locked myself away in my room. I worked on my homework until it was dinnertime.

My family and I sat at the table, eating spaghetti. Well, everyone ate while I just pushed my food around with my fork. "I'm going to bed early." I informed, setting my fork down.

"Are you sure, honey? You barely touched your food." Dad noticed. "I'm not that very hungry. Excuse me." I said as I got up from the table.

I went to my room and got changed into my sleepwear before climbing into bed, pulling the blanket over me.

"Senpai... Senpai... Senpai..." I whispered. I want Nemesis-kun back. I want him to hold me, kiss me, and tease me like he used to. I want him back in my life.

Without him, I'm broken.
