Invite To The Tournament

Many years passed, and believe or not, Leaf has become a very mature teenager. As he expected, his family didn't have the money to send him to college. So, he helps his parents in their little shop they opened.

Sometimes, he would sell some of the plants and greenery he had planted to the people, for extra change.

He was working hard to get the money for his family and eventually, he actually got enough to buy himself a pair of ice skates. Knowing about his dream, his parents allowed him to buy them. But he rarely could go to the town ice rink because of the high budget.

He had been in contact with Cyclone as well, they talk on a daily basis. And most of the things they talk about is ice-skating.

To Leaf's dismay, his idol, Tobias Aba, had passed away years ago. But that definitely didn't stop him from his dream.

One weekend, he got a call from the bubbly guy. He gladly accepted the call.

" Hey, Leaf! How ya doing? " Cyclone exclaimed with excitement over the phone. Leaf had to pull away from the phone because he was quite loud.

" Hello, Cyclone. I'm doing fine, how about you? " Leaf asked.

" I'm great! Have you been doing some ice skating lately? " Cyclone said.

" Uh... Not really. I managed to afford the ice skates, but I can't afford anymore for the ice rink, " Leaf said.

Cyclone laughed. " Oh, yeah. I forgot. But I HAVE SOMETHING TO TELL YA, LEAF! " he said.

" Woah, okay. What is it, Cyclone? " Leaf asked.

" I'm, HOME! " Cyclone shouted in delight.

Leaf's eyes went wide. His friend, who had gone to New Zealand many years ago, has come back.

" NO WAY REALLY?! WHEN DID YOU LAND?! " Leaf said in excitement.

" Actually, I landed a few days ago, " Cyclone said with smirk.

" What? Why didn't you tell me? " Leaf asked.

" Hey, I wanted it to be a surprise. ALSO, I wanted you to come with me to visit the sports tournament tomorrow in the other town in Rintis, you up for that? " Cyclone said.

The sports tournament? They have one every year. Many of the best athletes in the world will come here and compete. Leaf had always wanted to go, but as per usual, he just doesn't have the money.

" Are you sure? Will it be enough for the two of us? I heard we had the pay a lot to get in, " Leaf said.

" Pfft, don't worry about it. I got the both of us covered. Tournament is tomorrow, so, you wanna come with? " Cyclone said.

Leaf wanted to go, he really did. But he didn't want to leave his parents to take care of the shop themselves. He heard a creak behind him. He saw his parents at the door. They nodded in approval.

Leaf smiled. He went back to Cyclone.
" When do we meet? " he asked.

" 8 in the morning at the Rintis train station. Bring along your ice skates as well, just in case, you know what I'm saying? " Cyclone said, chuckling. Leaf smiled.
