Chapter 1

-Rachel-

*beep beep beep*

My alarm went off signaling that it was time and today was the day. I quickly got up turned off my alarm and jumped into the shower. After my shower I wrapped a towel around my hair and my body. I ran into my room and went directly to my closet. When I opened it I saw the perfect outfit. I grabbed my underwear and bra then I got changed. I was wearing a grey colored crop top that says "I would prefer not to" and some black skinny jeans. The shoes that I'm wearing are just some black converse, I don't wanna be uncomfortable during my audition! Oh gosh let me explain myself. Today is the day I'm auditioning for the X-Factor! It is 7:00 in the morning and I'm getting ready. I let my hair down and dry it. I look at myself in the mirror and just womder what to do with my brown hair. I put it up in a half up, half down look and I curl all the strands of hair. I grab my tooth brush and brush my teeth. I go over to my phone and dial my friend Luke's number.

*ring ring ring ri-*

"Hello?" Luke answers tiredly.

"Today is the X-factor audition and your sleeping!?!? I thought you guys were gonna come and support me." I said a little upset since we have to leave soon that means that they can't make it to my house in time.

"What do you mean? I'm on your couch downstairs waiting for you." He says. I hang up and take my phone with me downstairs. I see Luke sitting on the couch and I literally jump on him and hug him.

"Woah, what's up?" He asks me. I look up at him with my plain brown eyes and shrug

"I don't know I'm nervous. Where are the others?" I ask while sitting up. Luke shrugs.

"I'm not sure but you shouldn't be worried at all. You're gonna rock it!" He smiles. I smile back and I hear knocks on the door. I get up and open the door.

"Hello miss x-factor" Calum smirked. I shake my head and hug him.

"Hey Rach." Ashton says and hugs me. Michael does the same and they all sit on the couch. Oh yeah forgot to mention that 5 Seconds Of Summer are my friends.

"Alright kids let's go!" My mom says coming out of no where. We all go outside and into the car.

"You look really comfy today Rach! You're not all girly with your floral skirts and heels today!" Michael says from the back seat.

"Is that a good thing or a bad thing?" I laugh.

"Don't worry you look fine. It's a good thing." Michael replies while chuckling.

*Skip car ride bc its boring*

We finally got here and got in line. After about 10 minutes I was getting my number. We go inside and sit down where no one was so they could help me practice.

"Practice the whistle tones." Luke tells me.

"I probably won't even get that far into the performance though...probably not even to that whole verse." I sigh.

"You will make it there." He says. I sigh again and nod.

"It feels like a dream, when you love me tenderly. I don't know if you're for real." I sing. I take a deep breath and sing the last part with the whistle tone.

"But I lik1e the way you feel inside!" I sing louder. When I'm done with that whistle tone the boys clap and pat me on the back. A guy comes through the double doors.

"Number....78960." He says. Yeah...I have a long number. I take a deep breath and get up and walk to the door. Oh my gosh. I walk onto the stage with the microphone I was given and I see Demi, Simon, and Brittney.

"Hi sweetie tell us about you?" Simon asks.

"My name is Rachel Simmer, I'm 17, and I love singing." I answered with a shakey voice.

"What will you be singing today?" Demi asks.

"Um I will be singing Emotions by Mariah Carey." I say. I see Simon make a face that just screams his thoughts which I bet are "she cant do it."and I freak out a bit.

"Are you sure? The whistle tones might be hard for a small girl like you." Brittney says. I get a little mad.

"Yes, I'll be fine" I smile politley.

"Okay good luck." Demi smiles. The music plays and I close my eyes and calm down. Then I start to sing.

"You got me feelin emotions! Deeper than I ever dreamed of. Woah, oh. You got me feelin emotions, Higher than the heavens above. I feel good, I feel nice. I've never been so satisfied. I'm in love! I'm alive. Intoxicated, Flyin high! Feels like a dream, When you touch me tenderly. I don't know if you for real, but I like the way you feel inside!

When I hit the whistle tone the crowd goes crazy and I see the judges make a surprised face and Demi gets up and starts jamming out to the song which gives me confidence also the fact that they haven't stopped me yet.

"You got me feelin emotions! Deeper than I've ever dreamed of. Woah, oh. You got me feelin emotions, higher than the heavens above! In the mornin when I rise, You are the first thing on my mind; and in the middle of the night. I feel your heart beat next to mine! It feels like a dream. When you love me tenderly, I don't know if you for real; but I like the way you feel inside! You got me feelin emotions. Deeper than I've ever dreamed of. Oh, you got me feelin emotions; higher than the heavens above! You got me feelin emotions. Deeper than I've ever dreamed of. Oh baby, you got me feelin emotions; higher than the heavens above! Ooh."

Simon cuts the music off and I stop immediatly.

"I would like it if we would skip to the other chrous where there is more whistle tones....I want to see how much you can take." He says. I nod and the music starts again to the whistle tones. Which is a lot. I take a deep breath and Demi is still standing giving me a thumbs up. The crowd goes silent.(the ohhh's mean whistle tones)

"You've got me feelin emotions! Ohhh. Ohhh. Ohhh... Ohhh. Ohhh.... Ohhh. Ohhh. Ohhh." The crowd goes wild as I sing all of the notes and make them higher and higher. I chuckle a bit and sing the very last line.

"You've got me feelin highhhh." I sing. The judges stand up and give me a standing obvation. Then the crowd goes crazy again.

"Wow. That's all I can say right now. Rachel your voice is amazing! You left me speechless and I love you. Hopefully I'll be your mentor." Demi says while smiling. I smile back and thank her.

"Rachel, that was a really good job up there....since you have a small body I though that you wouldn't be able to have those kind of chords." Brittney compliments me. I nod and thank her too. I then look at Simon.

"Well...I have to say. You amazed me. I was not expecting that from you. Honestly I think that your performance was amazing. I can't wait to see you in the rest of this competition." Simon smiles genuinely. I start tearing up and smile.

"Can I hug you!? You are so cute. Here wait a second honey." Demi says, she gets out of her chair and runs up to the stage.

"I'm gonna stand here until you get to know where you're going. For me...it's a yes! Easiest yes I've given all year!" Demi smiles holding my hand. The other hand is covering my mouth while a tear slips out of my eye.

"It's a yes for me." Brittney says. I start to shake.

"I agree with Demi. Easiest yes I've ever given." Simon smirks. My eyes go wide and I hug Demi. I hear the boys scream and they run onto the stage. The crowd goes crazy since it's 5 seconds of summer. They hug me and I jump with them and my mom comes out crying. I hug her too and I thank the judges and we walk out with my ticket.

"I can't believe this!" I sob while smiling. I hug everyone again and we walk to the car. I sit in the front and I'm still freaking out.

Here I come X-Factor.

Awh she made it. Okay so basically Ariana is gonna be Rachel. haha obviously but anyway....yeah hope you enjoyed this chapter.
