12. A brother and a Sister

"Did I ever tell you the story of how I conquered the monsters?" I looked at Matt as I waited for his answer "How?" He chuckles as he leans closer "Well, I told them if they continued I'll just have to.." I waited as he looked at me "tickle them!" "No!" Matt grabbed me and started tickling me making me laugh loud and giggle as laughed as well. "Mercy!" I yelled as he stopped as I tried to calm down. "I win. Anyways time for bed pip squeak." I pout as I pulled his hand. "Tickle monster?" He shook his head "I'm all tickled out. Beside you need all your energy for tomorrow at dad's job." I nod as I pulled him closer. "I love you Matt" he smiled brightly as he kissed my cheek "Sleep tight pidge" he tucked me in but before he left I held his hand "Promise me that you'll be there for me always" he chuckles "I promise you."

"You lied to me! You promised!" I threw small objects at his head as he ducked each one. "Katie! I had no choice trust me! I wouldn't go if you were going to act like this." I had tears in my eyes as he came closer and wrapped his arms around me. I'll be back on holidays okay? I promise I'll be back to you. I love you" I smiled as I held back "I love you too Matt" he starts to chuckle "You are a smart and bright girl. I know you will do great things." I looked up at him "How would you know?" He smirks "Well, seeing how good you are with codes and other things I'm pretty sure dad is gonna leave the company to either me or you. But since your his princess I'm pretty sure it's yours." I nudged him as I looked at our hands. "You really think I'm smart?" He nods "Of course. I believe in you pidge. I'll always carry you in my heart. I promise."

"I don't like him Katie. He seems like the type to just get what he wants." I rolled my eyes at him "Matt, he's a really sweet guy and we have so many things in common. He even thinks that I'm cool. I haven't been called cool in a long time. Why can't you just be happy for me? Don't you love me?" I say with a pout "Katie..don't make that face. You know I love you. That guy isn't right for You, I have a feeling he will hurt you in the end." I rolled my eyes "He's not trust me. Besides if he does do me wrong I got my older brother to take him down." He chuckles as he pulls me closer and kissed my head "I made a promise to you since we were little. To always be there for you. You're 22 years old Katie and have to experience things on your own. I can't always protect you and you even know that. But I will always be there for you when you need me." He held tight as I held tighter. My brother was my everything and I couldn't be any happier.

"You monster! How could you kill my baby sister! She loved You! She adored You! How can you just push her to her death! I knew you were trouble the moment you stepped into my home. It's cause of you that Katie is dead! You took the most important thing in my life.." I watched as Matt shoved him and throw a dirty blow to his face. "I'll kill You! Just wait and see you asshole! That was my baby sister! The light of my life!" I cried as officers took him out "Matt! Please! Matt!" I yelled but he couldn't hear me or see me. "I don't care! I never really liked her! I just wanted to be part of the company and have my share of the cut!" What a dick!

"Katie deserved better. I perfered Myers over you.." the officers let him go as he wiped his eyes walking away "I'm sorry Katie. I wasn't there for you like you wanted. Why couldn't you just tell me that he was hurting You?" He stopped and I stood in front of him as he bent over and started to cry "What am I going to tell mom and dad? You were gone too soon.." He fell to the ground clutching to his arms as I kneeled before him. "I love you.." I whispered in his ear as he lifted his head "Katie?" He stood up as I went to touch but I went through "Katie I feel you." I sigh as he looked around

"Why didn't you call me? I thought we were close? I could have saved you from that. Also I told you so. I knew he was trouble from the moment you introduced him to me." I started to cry because Matt was right. That guy wasn't the one for me but I thought it could change but look what happened. "I'm sorry for yelling at you. I'm just broken and shaken. I hope you find your peace. Remember I will always be there for you. I love you Pidge." I smiled softly as he walked right through me "I love you too Matt."

"Pidge calm down Please! Let me explain everything!" I appeared in front of Shiro and Keith as I had tears in my eyes "What is there to explain Shiro? Matt is dead? My brother, my best friend, my everything is dead just like me. Just for a woman who he loved that caused him his life. He died just like I did" he shook his head "He died yes but he found peace and was crossed to the other side. You are still here stuck because you want revenge on the man that killed you." I lowered my head as I sigh "What's the point? I'm stuck here forever with you and Keith. What more can I lose?" I disappeared as I decided to go to my grave.

And Shiro was right. Matt was dead. His tomb was besides mine. I kneel down on my knees as I saw a picture of me and him when were kids. I smiled softly as I touched his tomb. "You're an idiot for falling for a girl who isn't worth it." As I stood a woman comes closer and I move and stand behind his tombstone. "Hey Matt, I'm sorry I forgot to visit you. I've been dealing with stuff." I looked at the woman, she looked really old as she was in her 40s. Gross who are you lady? She looked up and pulled a small vile out from the flowers.

Odd? Wait is that blood? "I'm so sorry you had go like this but I'm glad you left a part of you in me." What? As the woman stood up she drank whatever it was in the thing and made her look young. "I didn't bring him because I don't want him to see this just yet. He's so talkative and acts like you. He even looks like you. I wish I knew a spell to reverse the damages. We could have been a family."

Is she the witch that killed him? I glared at her "You shouldn't have stepped in the way Matt. I know you wanted to protect me because you told me about your little sister. You wish you can go back and save her but you can't. I just wish you did do that for me. I'm not worth it. I'm a liar and theif. But you saw something in me that made me change. I have changed, being a mother and doing a better job at keeping my emotions well. I just wish you can see it all."

I started to cry as she placed a small white rose in the vase. She kissed his photo and touched the tomb. "Bye Matt. I'll bring Nero next time. I love you." She stood up and left and I decided to follow her. I ended up in the depths of the woods to a small house. I walked around as I see her hold a child in her arms. "Mommy!" She smiles and kisses him as she walks towards a photo of herself and Matt. "Is daddy coming home?" She closed her eyes "Soon baby. Very soon." As I looked at the child he looked just like Matt. Just with ruby red eyes. I have a nephew. I smiled and decided to go home.

As I got home Keith was sitting on the couch holding the cushion as he stared at nothing. "I'm back" he looks at me and sighs "Is it true? Is your brother dead?" I nodded "Yeah but he died by protecting the one he loved. I saw his girlfriend and she talked to his grave and told him that he was dumb to step in front of her." Keith sat up looking at me

"He didn't die cause he was sucked dry. He died protecting his family. He had a kid with the witch. He's the most adorable little boy I've ever seen. He looks just like Matt. So Keith if Lance really does love you then he won't drain you. I thought that woman was good for nothing but Matt helped her change. She's doing better for herself and her kid." I smiled

"Give Lance a chance to explain his side of the story." He nods "Okay." I nod as Shiro comes down the stairs "Pidge look I'm sorry about Matt." I shook my head "No need. I know the truth. He didn't die cause she drained him. He died because he was protecting his family. I have a nephew Shiro. I knew my brother wouldn't died just like that. He's caring and loyal and trustworthy. You should always do your research." I disappeared and ended up in the attic.
