Chapter 16

"Could this guy be anymore cryptic?" Maria mused as she thought over the recap Liz had given her of the events that played out while she was unconscious.

The members of the gang all felt they needed to rest for the night and were now holed up in a cheep motel a couple of miles from where they had crashed. Though for them it was VERY cheep; the locks were easy enough to crack. The van was now abandoned back where they crashed. As they passed a kiosk near the entrance of the motel filled with brochures, Max noted that they were now, apparently, in "Beautiful Southern Montana", not that it mattered much. If what his "son" said was true they wouldn't be anywhere in a couple of days.

"Not even if he tried" Liz complained. They both made a quick glance in his direction to make sure he wasn't listening, but he seemed to rapped up in his "aliens only" conversation. 'What is it with these aliens and their "no humans allowed" shit' Liz thought angrily. She had half a mind to march over there and blast his ass 'who's the alien now?' she smiled to herself. But she didn't want to let the newcomer know to much just yet, if he turned on them, her powers might come in handy. 'Then again he may be a mind reader' sighing she turned back to Maria.

When she saw the look on Maria's face she was instantly concerned. She looked stunned and very worried, as if she'd just had a terrible realization. "Maria what's wrong?"

"Liz, what's going to happen to me?" Maria asked wide eyed.

"What do you mean?" Liz asked her lack of comfort growing with every passing second.

"I mean, if that little...whatever he is over there is totally alien, and he healed me..." she gestured wildly trying to convey the panic she felt "What the heck dose that mean? Am I going to get alien powers like you? Is it going to be way faster? I mean Max is only half alien and look at you! You glow green Liz!" she lowered her voice to a whisper "What if i become one of them; a full blown Czechoslovakian!"

"Maria just calm down okay. We don't even know what a full alien healing a human can do. Maybe nothing will happen okay, like, maybe the reason I got some alien mojo is because Max is half human and can't control it as well you know? There is no need to freak out over this."

"Easy for you to say alien girl." Maria said sullenly, though she seemed to have calmed down.
