"Oh, that's right you don't know..." The boy said a devious smile spreading across his face.

"Don't know what?"

"That Mom ,Tess, had twins."

"Twins?"

"Yeah and both named Zan, imagine that."

Michael had a questioning look on his face "Wait, that still doesn't explain why you're already 15, or why Tess never told us about you."

"I was getting to that," He prepared himself for the long explanation. "When Zan and I were born Mom was pretty out of it, so the doctors took us away to examine us. I assume you all know that Zan is completely human?" The group nodded their agreement. "Well, I'm completely alien. Exactly what they wanted. So Mom was never told about me, and they sent her and the other Zan back to earth because they didn't need them. About my age, time passes differently on Antar, faster, and also I'm told we develpe faster than humans."

Max seemed to mull this over for a second. "I want to believe you because you saved us," As he said this he motioned to Maria and himself. " but I don't know. "

"Listen, I'm sorry for screwing with you back there, but I wanted to try and avoid actual contact with you. Those notes, they were me, I never meant for anyone to get hurt." As Zan said this his eyes were glued to his shoes.

"Let's say I believe you, then why are you here? I'm guessing you aren't back for a family reunion."

"I'm here because what the note says is true. If you don't let me help you, you're all going to die."
