She was wearing pair of jeans and a white shirt. Her black hair was straight unlike mine. A little girl in a pink dress and two pigtails is holding her hands. I didn't know how to react. She let the girl's hand go and hugged me tightly. I could feel her arms tightly around me. I was shook. I didn't feel this way from years. This warm hug from years. I couldn't move my arms to hug her back. I couldn't even move any other part of my body. The girl looked confused. I could hear her voice in my ears saying "I miss you. I miss you, my sweet pie." That name. That name that I was called by everywhere but only from her. She was the only one who called me sweet pie. I was always her sweet pie. She let go. "You okay, honey?" She asked while her hands were on my arms. I nodded slowly. I invited them both inside. They were sitting on that couch in the room. "Look at you! You're so grown up!" She said. She said it like she was a proud mom. But she didn't do any of this. I did it myself. She wasn't there to watch it happen. "Let me present to you Maddy." She said pointing to the little girl. All I did was nod. I didn't have anything to say. More like I didn't want to talk so I won't hurt my own mother. "Maddy this is your sister Toni." She said to the girl. So she was my sister. Wow! She had brown hair. She was so light. Her eyes looked kinda brown. This girl only had my mother's nose and eyes. "How old is she?" I spoke at last. "She is going to enter the third grade next year." Mom said happily. Her look to that girl reminded me of myself. When I was the one who was given that look years ago. Which made me feel like I wasn't that special to anyone not even to my own mother. We heard the door open. It was Shawn. "Hey! Sorry, I am not giving any autographs now!" Shawn said to my mother and the little girl. "Oh! There must be a mistake. I am Toni's mother. I am Sarah Clarks." She said as he offered her hands to Shawn. "I am Shawn Mendes. Your daughter's boss." He said as they shook hands. "What a pleasure sir!" She said happily. "Thanks, ma'am!" He said smiling. I was just blank. "Okay. I have to leave right now. So, I was wondering if it is okay if Toni has dinner at my house tomorrow?" She asked smiling. "It is fine for me." Shawn said smiling. They both looked at me. "Okay." I said with no emotions at all. "But.. Shawn is coming too!" I said out of the sudden. Which made them look at me. "I mean Mr Mendes will come with me!" I said slowly. "Oh! That would be such a pleasure." She said smiling. "Okay then I will wait for you guys tomorrow at 8:00." She said as she gave us the address paper. The little girl waved at us as they went out of the room. "Wow! Your mother is a really nice lady." Shawn said happily. I just went to my bed and throw myself on it. My face was buried in my pillows. I could feel his hand on my back. "Everything okay, Toni?" He asked as he tapped on my back. I looked at him. "If you don't wanna go tomorrow. It is okay. You don't have to." He said as he took my face between his hands. "No. It is fine as long as you're coming." I said as I hugged him. "Don't worry. I will just make up a lie to tell Andrew so I can come." He said. I laughed lightly. We pulled back from the hug. I kissed him. "How did it go?" I asked between our kisses. "Good." He said as he kissed my neck making me laugh. I didn't know what to feel that I saw my mother again. It was weird. So much for 5 years, huh?
