Hugo was sitting on his bed, still upset about his breakup. Axel wished there was something he could do to help his little brother feel better.
"Poor baby bro," Axel sighed, sitting on Hugo's bed. "It hurts me to see you like this."
"I guess the only thing harder than a breakup is getting over it," Hugo sighed.
Axel didn't say anything because he didn't want to make Hugo feel worse, so he just touched Hugo's hand, which made his little brother smile a little.
The princes' mother, Queen Samira, came in, holding a shopping bag, and she noticed that her youngest son was still upset. "How are you holding up, Hugo?" she asked.
"Still a little choked up, Mom," Hugo replied.
"Poor baby," Samira said.
Axel noticed the bag in his mother's hand and asked, "What do you have there, Mom?"
"I went out and bought you boys some bubble bath," Samira replied. "I was going to get your original kinds, but I thought you'd like something different for a change. She put the bag down and took out two identical bubble bath bottles.
Hugo took out his reading glasses, so he could read the labels clearly. "Fleur de Freezenburg," he read the label. "Princess Hildegard created this fragrance."
"So she did," Axel shrugged. He smelled the aroma of the soap. "Her attitude may be rotten, but this aroma is divine."
Hugo sniffed the soap and said, "Beautiful." But then he sneezed and broke out in green spots.
"Bless you," Axel and Samira said.
"Thanks," Hugo sniffled. But then he saw that his green-spotted rash was back. "Oh, no—not again!"
But then Axel realized something. "Wait, isn't that how you reacted to Sofia?"
Hugo remembered reacting to Sofia like this. "That's right," he nodded. "Come to think of it, she smelled just like this when we got back from our vacation."
"And that's when you started sneezing and breaking out," Axel realized.
Then Samira said. "If my hunch is right, then Sofia must've been using the same bubble bath the whole time."
"So I never was allergic to Sofia," Hugo realized.
"No, you're allergic to Princess Hildegard's fragrance, Fleur de Freezenburg," Axel beamed.
Hugo and Axel cheered happily and hugged tightly, happy to have solved the mystery. The little celebration caught the attention of Garrick, who was happy to see his sons like this.
"Hey, what's going on?" Garrick smiled.
"We finally figured out Hugo's real allergy," Axel said.
"It turns out Sofia had been using Fleur de Freezenburg soap, and that's what's been making me sneeze and break out in spots," Hugo revealed.
"That's good," Garrick smiled.
"I need to tell Sofia," Hugo said.
"Well, I'd better take these back to the store and get different soaps for you boys," Samira declared. "Do you want to come with me? The last thing I want to do is buy another bubble bath that makes at least one of you sneeze."
The brothers liked the sound of that. At the shop, Samira returned the Fleur de Freezenburg bubble bath. Hugo and Axel looked at different bubble bath soaps. Axel chose ocean mist, and Hugo pickedout rose bouquet—he even picked out lavender bubble bath for Sofia to replace her Fleur de Freezenburg bubble bath.
