Chapter 3

Snowy days, sunny days, rainy days, whatever the weather, Ashleigh and her friends would always hang out after school. This day was different though, all her friends were acting strange when they came over. Elijah had brought his car which looked filled with items, even his younger sister, Kimberly even came over. Ashleigh wanted to ask what was going on but didn't.

"Is everyone ready to go?" Lysa asked.

"Yeah." everyone said in unison.

"Let's go then!" Elijah said grabbing his keys and they all walked out the door.

They soon arrived at what seemed to be a campsite, but Ashleigh was unsure since she had never been camping in her life. The car pulled into a parking spot next to the mountains and everyone got out. Ashleigh grabbed her items, Elijah grabbed his, Kimberly hers, and everyone else.

"So, um, where are we?" Ashleigh asked while everyone turned to her in confusion.

"We're at the mountains." Rebecca replied, but Ashleigh was even more confused.

"To go camping." Lysa added on.

"Camping? I've never been, is it fun?" Ashleigh asked, once more and Elijah gave her a nod.

"Alright, we got the place all to ourselves so we're good to be as loud as we want!" Elijah said while all the other girls laughed.

The hike to their campsite was pretty far for Ashleigh, but pretty close for the others.  When they got out the forest section, all that could be seen was something out of a painting.  The sky was painted blue, the lake was crystal clear, and the mountains seemed unreal.  Ashleigh stood in awe at the site.

"Earth to Ashleigh!" Elijah said snapping his fingers in front of her face.

"Huh, what? Sorry, this place is just so...beautiful." had she never seen anything like it, she thought it was all a dream and didn't want to wake up.

Elijah lead her down the trail where the others were, it was right by the lake and mountains.

"Guys, how about we go for a little hike up the mountain?" Kimberly suggested.

"That sounds fun! What do you think, Ashleigh?" Elijah asked looking towards her.

"Sure, why not." she replied with a shrug.

Everyone got up and got their hiking gear then headed up.

After climbing for about thirty minutes they find a cave they've never seen before.

"Hey guys, I found a cave!" Elijah said in shock.

"Oh my gosh! Let's go explore! I brought flashlights and plenty of snacks and water!" Lysa said in awe.

"Okay, why not?" Kimberly said with a shrug and they all walked in.

"Turn on your flashlights, who knows what we might find!" Rebecca added on.
