Chapter 2

It's been several years since Ashleigh and her family moved to Canada, she's now fifteen and has made many new friends.  She's become homeschooled also, during this time period.

"Ashleigh, your phone is ringing!" Mr. Lyeh called as she ran down the stairs and answered the call.

"Hello?" She asked as she answered.

"Hey, Ashleigh.  I'm going to the movies tonight and have an extra ticket that nobody wants.  Would you like to go with me?" The voice asks.

"As friends, right, Elijah?" She asked with a small laugh and rolling her eyes.

"Yes, Ashleigh, as friends." She could picture him rolling his eyes with the sarcastic tone he used.

"Okay, what time is it?" Ashleigh asked looking at the clock in the kitchen.

"It's at um, let me check." Elijah says with a small laugh while Ashleigh rolls her eyes.

"Okay, five o' clock tonight." He says as if he were running.

"Five?!  That only gives me two hours to get ready!  I'll talk to you later!" Ashleigh says without hesitation then hangs up and goes to get ready.

After Ashleigh's shower, she goes to her wardrobe and looks for an outfit.

"This looks like it will work." She picks out a white crop top with black ripped jeans and a black and red denim jacket.

Meanwhile...

As Elijah finished getting dressed into a pair of blue jeans with some holes, a shirt, and denim jacket, he headed down to the kitchen to get his keys to the car.

"Bonjour?" Ashleigh asks as she picks up the call.

"Ashleigh, it's Elijah.  I don't understand French, remember?" He says with a small laugh.

"Oh, sorry.  Are you on your way?" Ashleigh replied laughing.

"Haha, yeah, I'll be there in fifteen."

"Okay, bye Elijah, see you then!" Ashleigh hangs up the call and so does Elijah.

"Elijah, that movie was incroyable!" Ashleigh says as the two walked out the theater with excitement.

"What?  It was good or bad?" Elijah asks in confusion with a little laughter.

"Forgot you don't understand French, I said that movie was amazing." She replied with a smile.

Elijah dropped Ashleigh off at her house and told her he would see her tomorrow after school.

"Okay, bye Elijah!" Ashleigh waved as he drove off.

"There you are, how was the movie?" Her mother asks as she walks in the door.  

"It was really good."  Ashleigh replied as she went upstairs to get ready for bed.
