Ben

"We'll be meeting at the movies tomorrow at 3pm," Bianca texts me. I feel giddy just seeing this. I mean, she asked me to spend time with her outside of school. That must mean something.

As I'm driving to the movie theater, my heart races. Something so simple can turn into something so much bigger when you have a crush. Like, yeah, her friends will be there, but I get to spend time with her. Outside of school.

Once I show up, I head inside to the large entrance of the theater and take a quick look around. It takes me a little bit, but eventually, I see Bianca and she notices me and beckons me over.

"Guys, this is Ben," she introduces me to her friends. The three of them wave to me. There's two other girls and one boy in the group, all of which seem somewhat introverted like herself. "Ben, this is Rachel, Eli, and Chloe."

"Nice to meet you guys. Hope you don't mind I'm here," I tell them, smiling. The one that Bianca pointed out to be Chloe shakes her head.

"It's no problem," she replies. I sigh in relief.

"You guys wanna get tickets now?" Rachel asks. We all agree and head over to the ticket line. I wait and peer over at Bianca, who's a little bit ahead of me in line. I notice how pretty she looks today. Instead of her usual clothes, which are mostly band shirts and threatening looking jackets, she's wearing a dress. It's a dark blue dress, but it's still very pretty and fits her very well. Her hair is also out of her usual braid, and it's so beautiful when you can see it in all of its wavy glory. I wonder why she's wearing a dress here but won't in school. She's so pretty.

The others wait for me outside of the velvet rope as I'm the last one to get my ticket. When I walk over to them, we all decide to go get some food before we head in. Then, once we get our assorted foods, we decided to all head into the theater early to get some good seats. Bianca beckons me to sit next to her since I don't know her friends super well yet.

Since it's a 3D movie, I decided to toy with my glasses. I put them in the most obscure place I could, sort of draped across my face diagonally. I look at Bianca to my left and she turns after a few seconds and bursts out laughing.

"Oh my god, you scared me for a second," she giggles. I smile, glasses still in the same position.

"Do you like my new look?"

"Definitely. I think you should try it more often."

I smirk and put my glasses on the top of my head for the remainder of the previews.

Suddenly, Bianca freaks out a little. "Shit, I think I dropped my phone in the lobby." She anxiously pats around her seat for her phone but seems not to find it.

"Want me to help you find it?"

"The movie's about to start, I don't want to make you miss the beginning."

I shake my head. "Come on, I'll help you look." I get up from my seat and lead the way. Her friends just look on for a second in sympathy but stay where they are while Bianca and I leave the room momentarily.

She frowns as we walk down the hall of various theater rooms and peers over at me. "You're really cool for helping me look for my phone, but I feel bad."

I shrug. "I don't think you should feel bad. I know it sucks to lose your phone, and I don't want you to freak out too much about it."

She smiles a little. "Thank you."

We continue walking to the lobby together and start looking around for where her phone might be. After a few minutes of hopeless wandering, I bring up a question.

"Want me to call it?"

"You can try," she replies, a little melancholy. I snag my phone from my pants pocket and look for her number in my contacts. "You've got a lot of contacts."

I look over at her, a little surprised by her comment. "I guess so. I don't text a lot of these people. A lot of them are from my old town. Pretty fake friends."

"Fake friends are better than none," she sighs. I frown a little. But then I find her contact and start calling it. Much to our luck and surprise, we hear buzzing not too far away as soon as I press the call button. Scanning the area, I take note of her phone, buzzing on the floor nearby. She grabs it.

She smiles at me. "Thank you so much for helping me find it. I probably would've lost it otherwise."

"No problem."

The two of us walk back to the theater room we were previously in. We then head up to the row where her friends and the two of us were sitting before.

"Did you find your phone?" Eli asks. She nods at him.

"It was just lying on the ground."

The movie seems to be starting just as we sit down, so we all quiet down and put on the 3D glasses. The cinematic intro begins, and we all try to focus. However, I was unable to at first.

Bianca was eating some of her popcorn, but the thing is, she eats it in the most adorable way. I don't think I've ever admitted that someone eats in a cute way prior, but she's definitely a cute eater. I usually think eating noises are gross, quite frankly. But the way she chews and pops the food into her mouth is just so precious to me. She takes notice of my staring, however.

"Want some of my popcorn?" she asks, assuming that's why I was looking. Relieved that she didn't think I was creepy, I nod in response and thank her. I take a handful from the bag and she continues going about her cute eating.

What's with the people in our school? Does nobody see how amazing she is?

As the movie progresses, I see Bianca laugh numerous times, which in turn makes me smile. She sees me smile at her at one point, and I get very flustered. But she doesn't seem weirded out, she just continues smiling at me.

We had plenty of those moments throughout the movie, and I've gotta say, I'm pretty damn glad she invited me. The duration of the production was long enough to make me fall even harder for her.

As we all leave the theater, her friends start discussing their favorite parts and other funny moments. However, I walk quietly, not wanting to interrupt their conversation.

"So, what'd you think of the movie, Ben?" Chloe asks me. I get a little surprised when she interacts with me, but I feel satisfied knowing that they don't hate me like I thought.

"I thought it was cool. Better than I expected."

"Same," she replies, excited. Bianca smiles at me again. Damn her and her cute, freckly face.

I pause for a moment. "Hey, did your dad drive you here?" I ask. She nods. "Do you need a ride back?" She shakes her head, however.

"Thanks for the offer though. I hope you had fun," she smiles gently. I nod.

"Yeah, I did. Thanks for inviting me." She says goodbye to me and heads out to her dad's car. I decide to head home as well.

All the way back, I couldn't help but replay our interactions over and over again in my head. Some of them embarrassed me a little, but more than anything else, they gave me hope. Maybe she actually did like me a little.

She's so amazing...
