Walking through the forest wasn’t as fun as I thought it would be. We found a stream a few miles later, and Kari proceeded to rip a large chunk of her dress off and dunk it in water before trying to fix my arm, which wasn’t really that bad off, but I think Kari was overreacting.
We walked for another few hours, both of us getting hungry. I was starting to get extremely tired and somehow Kari kept walking at the same pace. “I think we should stop for the night, it’s getting too dark to see in front of us.”
“Aren’t those guys still following us? Won’t they catch up if we stop walking?” I babbled.
“Relax Lita, they would have caught us by now, everything’s going to be ok. We’ll find our way out of the forest tomorrow, I promise.”
“Ok, if you say so.” With that I tried to make a makeshift pillow from leaves, but it failed horribly, so I gave up and just decided to try to fall asleep.

“Wake up Lita, the sun is out.”
“No!” came a muffled response.
“You better get up, unless you want to be stuck in a forest forever and starve to death!”
“Ok fine! I’m getting up.” With that we proceeded to wander aimlessly through the forest. The trees were thinning in the near distance, so I could tell we would find a road soon enough. I started to pick up my pace again, but Lita complained that she didn’t have enough energy to keep moving quickly, so we had to slow down again. I hated walking slowly when I knew civilization was so close. Finally after what seemed like hours, but was more likely only mere minutes, we reached a road.
Lita started jumping up in excitement, until I told her we still had to follow the road until we found a phone/person/ or some other sort of civilization.
We began our long walk down the poor gravel road. The gravel road did nothing to help me determine where in the world we were. A few uneventful miles later we managed to stop outside an old run-down village.
A few of the signs were in German, but I knew that we weren’t in Germany, because I had been there before. Walking into a local deli shop I asked the man if I could borrow his phone. I was glad that I knew a bit of German or I would have been in horrible trouble trying to communicate. A few minutes later, I was on the phone with my boss, trying to talk to him with a horrible phone connection.
“Its Mason, I found Lita and we escaped, but this time there’s no going home I need to go back and kill the guy once and for all. I just need some supplies dropped off, so I can get the job done.”
“Mason!” roared my Superior “do you have any idea how worried everyone has been about you! This is the first time you haven’t come home early from a mission! You’ve scared me half to death, at least you got Lita back, but there is no way I’m letting you go back against that man. Let someone else have a go, you really should just come back here and take it easy, you’ve already done enough.”
“I appreciate that, but honestly I don’t think anyone else can do the job, besides I’m here and I know the layouts of the building, I’m the best person, even if you don’t think so.”
“Mason.” Said my Superior, in a slightly less yelling tone “You are coming home and that is final!”
