We were completely lost. Every turn that we took lead to another dead end, it was like being in a corn maze except we couldn’t just walk through the corn stalks when we got fed up. It seemed like every turn we took we got further, and further lost. I looked over at Renolds and tried to stifle a laugh. He had his gun out and low to his side, that amateur, didn’t he realize that he’d even up blowing his foot off of if he got startled and randomly pressed the trigger.  I looked back ahead, and found yet another dead end waiting in front of us.

I turned around to head back down the long corridor. I gave up on trying to walk quietly, it seemed like no one was even in this building. Another 20 minutes of furious walking still led to nowhere. It almost seemed like the building was abandoned. It had only been a few days since I was here though; they couldn’t have gotten things out so fast, could they?

“If you keep making that racket, then eventually someone will come find us, and shoot us” Renolds finally spoke.

“I doubt anyone is actually here.” I shot back.

“Oh really? Prove it!”

I just glared at him and started jumping up and down like some crazy ape. I made a huge racket, and still no one came. I even fired my gun off once for the fun of it. Ezra jumped as a result of that, which was hilarious. “Come join me” I joked.”

“If you want to get us killed that badly. . .” Ezra ended up joining me, and we had a jumping contest. Crack! Crack! “What’s that noise?” I questioned.

“Can’t hear anything” he yelled back. Crack! There it was again.

CRACK! The sounded echoed rather loudly, and suddenly the floor gave way. I could feel myself plummeting downwards in a rush of cool air. I landed with a thud, and had to push my golden hair out of my face to see where I was. A second later he joined me accompanied by a groan, it sounded like Renolds had landed face down. It was pretty dark wherever we were. I fished for a small flashlight that was hiding in of the pockets of my manly cargo pants. Grabbing that little light, I turned it on and flashed it around the room quickly. I didn’t see any one so I decided to slowly move the light around the room a second time to see what was there.

All I could see were dozens of computers, crammed onto desks, surrounded by piles of haphazardly stacked papers.  “Where are we?” I asked.

“In a room filled with computers.”

“Jerk” I mumbled.

“Controlling bitch” was his comeback. I chucked a chair at him for that remark. “Can you just grow up?” I deadpanned. Not even waiting for his response I wandered over to the nearest computer and turned it on. Password, started flashing, so I moved on to the next computer and the one after that, hoping one would accidently bypass the security measure.  I wasn’t lucky though. Grumbling in anger I grabbed the nearest stack of coffee stained papers and started rifling through them, looking for anything important.

I couldn’t make heads or tails of what I was staring at. Some papers had complex drawings, some had formulas, and a couple were encrypted in code. I was getting nowhere, and my frustration was building rather quickly. I had never learned anything about codes and bypassing security. I had never even faced someone smart enough to know what those things were.  I looked over at Renolds only to see him furiously typing away on some computer.  The screen looked different; it was blue with tiny white letters scrawled across it. A few minutes later the screen flashed, and changed again.

“I’m in!” was all he said. I walked over to have a closer look at the screen, and I saw a missile layout.

“So we’re just dealing with a guy making missiles?” I asked.

“That’s not even the half of it” he said in a worried voice.
