Toy Store

Millie was taking her little sister Ava to the toy store. Millie and Ava's parents were at home.. having a bit of a fight.

Millie had a large allowance. She could get Ava whatever she pleased. She wanted the best for Ava, she loved her sister a lot.

As they were walking into the store, Millie overheard a bit of a conversation.

"I'm sorry Holly. I would love to get you your first toy but, you know we're barely getting by, we don't even have dinner tonight."

Millie glanced in the conversations direction. She saw a tall lean boy, with a small frail girl with blond pigtails.

"Hey Millie. I want to play with that little girl." Ava spoke up, tugging at Millie's sleeve.

"Ava, we don't know them."

"Pleaseeeeeee." Ava pleaded.

Millie couldn't say no to her sister.

"Fine." Ava cheered.

They walked over to the duo.

"Hey, I'm Millie and this is Ava. Ava wanted to come over and say hi."

The tall lanky boy turned toward Millie.

"Uh, um. I'm Finn.. and this is my sister Holly."

"Hi Holly!" Ava's cheery voice spoke.

"H-hi Ava.." the small girl replied.

"Are you heading into the toy shop?" Millie asked the intriguing boy.

"Um. I was.. but." He glanced at all the price tags in the store window.

They all ranged from $30 to $65.

"Me and Holly are going to go... " He said turning to leave.

"Wait!" Millie had an idea. She wanted to ask this boy out, but she knew he would reject her.

"How about you buy something for me, Ava and Holly, Okay?" She asked

"Uh, I can't reall-"

Too late.

She dragged him into the store.

They explored the store together. Holly and Ava began swiping things off the shelves.

In a matter of minutes, the shopping cart was half full.

Millie decided that was enough.

Finn took one look at the cart and gulped. He looked in his wallet and saw a measly five dollar bill and some lint.

He didn't want to disappoint the beautiful girl with the cute sister.

He didn't know what to go.

"Let's go to the check out! Shall we Finnie?"

He hesitantly nodded.

At the check out, Finn pulled out his wallet shakily.

Millie glanced inside and knew this was going to happen.

She slapped his hand with the wallet lightly.

"I'm indecisive. Change of plans. I'll pay." She said tapping her credit card so fast, Finn couldn't even process what just happened.

Finn didn't notice his wallet was still out, hanging at his waist.

"T-thank you!" He said giving Millie a hug.

They walked out. Finn couldn't even stop thanking Millie.

Millie was holding a full bag of toys for Ava, and so was Finn, for Holly of course.

"Thank you, miss Millie. And, by the way.. I think my brother likes you." Holly said whispering it to Millie.

Millie chuckled.

She liked Holly and Finn a lot.

After parting ways and saying goodbye, Finn was nearly home. He never would forget about Millie, he only then noticed that she slipped 5,000 dollars in his wallet. He also noticed a note.
