It's been years since Meliodas felt sincere emotions, nor had he have friends. The feeling of someone being there with you through thick and thin, and doing crazy things with you. The feeling of happiness running through your veins.

He remembers having a friend about two years ago.

But it all ended. And—

Meliodas opened his eyes in shock. He hadn't realized that he fell asleep in class. He looked up and saw that Elizabeth was covering for him since she sat right in front. He peeked behind her and saw that their teacher for the period was a strict one.

Elizabeth looked back, acting casual, "great, you're awake. Now stop doing that for the next forty-five minutes and you'll be safe." She said in a hushed voice, hoping not to be caught by the teacher.

Meliodas was about to thank her when something crossed his mind,

Stop sleeping, would ya? We'll get in trouble

His head pounded, his breathing became ragged and heavy. He saw Elizabeth's head whip back, looking concerned at the sound of his breathing. Everything was spinning, and it was hard to focus on anything.

"Meliodas?"

MELIODAS! NO!

Meliodas woke up, gasping for air. Sweat was dripping from his forehead and his palms were cold but sweaty, "what the fuck was that?" He asked himself, his shaking hand lightly tugging on his shirt.

He looked around and saw Elizabeth sleeping at the foot of the bed. He furrowed his brows, wondering why she was still around. But he couldn't ask her that yet, so he stared at her in silence. It was creepy enough that he was staring, but it was creepier because he'll have to shoot a bullet through her head.

He sighed in disappointment. They were officially friends on the same day of her death. Oh, the timing of everything was absolutely in his favor. He didn't think he needed a friend, but Elizabeth made him think otherwise.

Meliodas shook her awake after a while. When she awoke, she looked at him in confusion, "what time is it?" His eyes flickered to the wall block behind her, "four."

"Oh, school's over," Elizabeth shrugged and stretched."Why did you wait for me? You could be somewhere else right now," Meliodas told her. He felt bad making her wait, even though he was supposed to kill her tonight, he was nice enough to let her enjoy the last moments she had.

"I had nothing planned after class, so I just stayed here and maybe catch some sleep," Elizabeth replied, patting the space she slept in with a proud smile. "Do we even go home the same way?" He asked.

"Guess we'll see," Elizabeth smiled at him and stood up, "does your head still hurt? The nurse told me to give you these just in case," she went through the pocket of her skirt and took out a small box of assorted medicine. Meliodas took it from her hand, "I think I'm okay, but thanks for holding it for me."

"Any time!"

This is the last time, though.

They went home together. The way to both their houses was the same, so it wasn't a hassle. Meliodas stayed silent the whole time while Elizabeth filled the air with questions and stories, "Oh yeah, I do have somewhere to be." She gasped in realization.

"Oh, are you late because of me? I'm sorry," Meliodas apologized, but she waved her hand dismissively with a frown, "It's fine, it doesn't start for after a few hours."

"Have fun wherever you're going."
