King sent Meliodas home, and he quickly changed out of his clothes. He checked the time; it was around 1 am; he was tired and frustrated. He never really enjoyed failing missions, but Elizabeth's stare still made him uncomfortable, so he convinced himself that it was probably okay to let it go.

Before jumping to bed, he opened his phone to check on his notifications, not that he expected any. He stopped all his movements when he saw a message from Elizabeth. He wasn't sure what he was expecting. Maybe it was her saying that she saw him or that she knew what he tried to do. Meliodas exhaled, not knowing he held a breath, before opening the message.

I almost got shot.

Meliodas wasn't sure if he was supposed to be nervous the next morning or not. Elizabeth's message seemed like she didn't it was him, but also debated if she was lying and getting to his head. For him to lower his guard. It didn't help that the first person he had to see in the morning was her, with the same sweet smile on her face.

"Good morning!" She beamed, approaching him in the hallway as they walked to class together. "Are you okay? I read your text," Meliodas told her, keeping a straight face. Elizabeth stared at him for a bit before responding, "you left me on read again, but yes, I'm fine. Just a little spooked," she shrugged and looked ahead.

"You're here being all clingy and running after me like a lost child, I think you're 100% fine," Meliodas pat her shoulder with the same straight face. Elizabeth turned to look at him in disbelief, "did you just make a joke?"

"Do I seem incapable of doing that?" Meliodas rose his brow, eyeing Elizabeth, who laughed, "if we're being honest here, yeah." He furrowed his brows at her and let it go, "how was the thing you went to yesterday?" He asked instead to change the topic of his incapability of making jokes.

Elizabeth was silent for a bit, before suddenly giggling, "if we're still being honest, I think you know, Meliodas." Her voice was no longer sweet and light, it was cold and menacing. Meliodas refused to look at her, knowing that she had a pairing look to her face, "what do you mean by that?" He continued to act as if he didn't know.

"How does it feel to miss?"
