Reason 8:
I tried to hate you and it didn't work.
There were times I just wanted to give up.
My confidence in liking you slowly started to falter away. The connection I tried to force, tethered apart in a fray.
I knew these leftover feelings weren't going to head anywhere. I knew that part of my life would go, leave a faint memory.
But then I'd still see you everyday, and those toxic thoughts bubbled away.
My heart knew from the beginning that you'd never return those feelings, but when you made me laugh, I went back to square one.
I didn't like that I could never hate you. But then again, that preference never stopped me.
