Violet was startled beyond belief as the Doctor and Martha frantically ran back inside the Tardis. They hadn't even been out ten minutes and they were diving for cover, as blasts from a sonic gun came from behind them.

''Get down!'' The Doctor shouted and not taking his order lightly, Violet did exactly that dropping the book she had been reading to drop to the floor of the Tardis. She was glad she had listened because just before the door shut a shot buzzed past her ear and was absorbed by the beige chair she had been sat on moments before.

''Did they see you?'' The Doctor asked oblivious to Violet's confused expression.

''I don't know,'' Martha replied as he moved to grip her shoulders.

''But did they see you?'' He asked again.

''I don't know. I was too busy running,'' At this point in time Jones had walked in.

''Well that's nothing new,'' He mumbled as he went to sit down but stopped as he noticed the slight Charing on the seat.

''Martha, it's important. Did they see your face?'' The Doctor pressured again.

''No, they couldn't have,'' Finally replied and satisfied with her answer he turned to the controls totally ignoring both Jones and Violet.

''Off we go!'' He commented flicking the switch to get the Tardis to move.

''Argh! They're following us.'' Violet's forehead creased, she felt then was the right time to ask what was going on.

''Whose following us exactly?'' But her question was completely rejected as Martha spoke over her.

''How can they do that? You've got a time machine,'' Martha declared and now Jones was the one to speak up.

''Who is following us?'' However, he too was ignored.

''Stolen technology. They've got a Time Agent's vortex manipulator. They can follow us wherever we go, right across the universe. They're never going to stop, unless. I'll have to do it. Martha, you trust me, don't you?''

''No matter how many times we ask, I don't think they're going to tell us,'' Violet spoke leaning over to whisper in Jones's ear.

''I second that,'' He nodded and so the two watched the exchange between companion and Time Lord, trying to figure out for themselves what was happening.

''Take this watch, because my life depends on it. This watch, Martha. The watch is me Martha,'' That was when Violet had had enough of standing by the sidelines, because she was now fully aware of what he was going to do.

''Right, okay, gotcha. No, hold on. Completely lost,'' Violet signed as yet again an attempt of finding out what was going on was blocked.

''Those creatures are hunters. They can sniff out anyone, and me being a Time Lord, well, I'm unique. They can track me down across the whole of time and space.''

''Oh no,'' Violet hung he head, she had a fair idea who was following them, but the name had escaped her.

''What?'' Jones asked noticing the glum tone she used.

''Do you have my necklace?'' Violet asked truing to him and sure enough he reached inside his pocket and pulled out the same necklace that had managed to block the Doctor seeing who she really was.

''Why do you want,'' He asked as he brushed her hair out of the way of her neck so he could clip it in place.

''They can smell me, they haven't seen me. And their life span will be running out, so we hide. Wait for them to die,'' Violet tilted her head at the Doctors explanation, he nodded in understanding, but still had a question.
