I had this idea after watching one of the last moments of the movie storks where the baby puts their hand on his beak and the scene showing all the families. (Sorry if that's spoilers but the movie is 2 years old now... but I've put it up top anyway :3)

Connor and Hank were at a crime scene as usual. It's been a while since the peaceful revolution of the Deviants. Connor had become Deviant himself, and continued to be partners with Hank in the police force, even living with him now since he never had to return to Cyberlife. He was free.

The crime scene was very run down, the house clearly not looked after. 2 people, a married couple had been killed, the killer having gotten away before the police could get there. It didn't take them too long to arrive thanks for a pedestrian passing by and hearing the commotion decided to ring the police, so yes the murderer was gone, but the crime scene was still pretty fresh allowing all evidence to be perfectly intact.

Whilst Connor and Hank were talking about the crime scene, Connor swore he heard what could be a faint cry come from one of the rooms... but they had searched everything, hadn't they? Another slightly louder cry could be heard by Connor, but Hank still seemed none the wiser to it. Which confused the advanced android.
"Lieutenant, do you hear something. I swear I hear something crying..." Connor asks Hank whilst slowly making his way towards where he things the sound is coming from.
"No Connor I don't hear anything... are you having a glit-" As Hank follows Connor he is suddenly cut off by a loud cry. The 2 exchange a confused and worried look before making their way into an empty room of the house. Well, at first glance it might seem empty, but in the corner is a small box covered with a blanket. Slowly Connor approaches said box and carefully lifts the blanket. What both Connor and Hank saw was the one thing they knew it could have been but didn't want to believe it. Inside the box was a small baby possibly only a few months old...

"Oh Jesus Christ..." Hank was muttering under his breath about how horrible it was to see you, an infant just left in a box in an empty room. For a small while Connor just stared at you in shock. You were so small, so fragile and now orphaned with no one to look after you.

Since the blanket had been removed and you had been exposed to the colder air your cries had gotten much louder, so much so that it had caught the attention of the others helping with the crime scene. Connor knew they couldn't just leave you in the box, especially as after a scan you were starting to show small indications of possibly catching a fever. So, with the gentlest of touches, Connor carefully scooped you up into his arms, making sure to keep you still wrapped in the blanket to keep you even warmer whilst being held in an already warm embrace. Almost immediately after settling you in his arms your crying ceases and pure wonder and intrigue spreads across your face as you widen your eyes to look at Connor. Everyone who is a witness to this is just outright shocked at how easy it was for Connor to calm the crying child, even Hank was fairly shocked but soon that shock was overwritten by a warm and even proud smile as he slowly makes his way to you and Connor.

Connor is just confused, he's never held a baby before, let alone even see one so close! He carefully lifts you even closer to his face in order to have a better look at you. As he does so you lift your hand up and then grasp his nose in your tiny hands whilst cooing slightly.  At this action Connor's eyes go wide and he just stares at you, his LED turning yellow as he tries to process these new emotions he is suddenly feeling towards you... it was very strange indeed, he's never felt ANYTHING like this since becoming deviant. Hank begin to walk towards you and Connor as he slowly lower you back down to cradle you against his chest.
"Everything alright Connor? You looked confused. Heh, 'nother glitch?" Hank proceeds to joke, trying to help lighten the mood a little after the shock the both experienced... Connor however just continues too stare at you.
"I don't understand lieutenant... I've been able to experience a few emotions now after becoming deviant, but this? I've never felt something so strong. Like I don't want to let them go. I feel really protective of them and... And want to care for them so they are sfae." Connor's voice starts to get quieter and almost fearful the longer he talks, breaking his gaze away from you to briefly look at Hank. As Hank continues to listen to Connor and catches his concerned gaze, he couldn't help but give a light chuckle before placing a hand on Connor's shoulder for reassurance.
"Like you'll love them no matter what and that you want to help them grow up healthy and strong right? That my son, is called paternal instinct. I felt it the same way you do now, the first time I held Cole..." Hank then proceeds to adjust Connor's grip on you ensuring your head is properly cradled in his hand as so not to cause any damage.
"Let's get the little one to the station for now, yeah? Then we can figure out what to do with them." Hank then proceeds to walk out of the crime scene and towards his car. The entire time Connor had been silent, watching Hank carefully and then took note of how he was now cradling you. As soon as Hank had changed the way his arms were holding you, you had fallen right to sleep clutching his tie in your little baby hands. Of course Hank would know little tricks like this... he's done it before.
