Pink Diamond was checking the status of Earth on the Moon base. Pearl stood patiently beside her, knowing she was nothing but a shiny toy. She looked up at Pink's face. She found the diamond's eyes follow her.

Their eyes met.

Pearl's darted back towards the translucent screen, blushing. She recovered quickly.
"Could you imagine at running a colony would be this dull?" Pink began, rolling her eyes and smiling. Pearl knew how she should answer, though sometimes she had wondered what would happen if she said something different.
"I could imagine it," she said in a clear monotone voice, like she was reading it off a script. She clasped her hands together. "If you would like me to, my diamond." Pink Diamond looked at her. She looked... disappointed. Pearl's small smile fell, she averted her gaze back towards the screen.

"Show me the status of the Prime Kindergarten," Pink ordered, looking away.
"Yes, my diamond," Pearl answered immediately, hands still clasped. She placed her hand onto one of the panels in front of her, and projected a pale hologram from her gem. A spherical circle appeared, displaying a small red cross marked on it.
"The first Quartz soldiers are due tho emerge soon," she reported. Pink's face went from bored to joyous in a second.
"Ha!" she gasped happily, causing Pearl to loose focus of the hologram. She shook her head and unclasped her hands to steady her head, a little dazed.
"Finally, something exciting!" Pink exclaimed, grinning. Pearl shared a small smile.

Pearl daintily walked down the steps of the moon base towards the observation device. Her diamond jumped down from behind her, landing next to the orb on the ground.
"Hurry, we've got to see this!" Pink Diamond called to Pearl gleefully, grasping her hands in delight. Pearl's grin widened.
"Quickly, turn it on," Pink pushed. Pearl placed a pale hand onto the sphere.

"Yes, my diamond." The room then swiftly transformed into a likeness of the Prime Kindergarten. Pink's head darted back and forth excitedly. She gasped.
"Look at this, Pearl," she breathed in awe. She gasped again. Pearl thought it was rather cute.
"We're creating life from nothing!" Pink cried.
Suddenly, one of the Amethyst holes began to glow warmly. Pink squatted down and stared at it impatiently. An Amethyst solider burst out of the ground in the standard Pink Colony uniform, looking fierce.
"Welcome to Earth!" Pink called out, spreading her arms wide in greeting. The amethyst continued forward, phasing right through Pink Diamond and ignoring her welcome. Pink's head swivelled around. The amethyst's arms spread out as she walked towards another group of amethyst before hugging them joyfully.

Pink sighed dully. "I wish I could just... be there."
Pearl's face fell for a while at her diamond's unhappy features, and then she picked it back up with a thought.  "I'll have us warped into the Kindergarten at once, my diamond," she suggested.
"W-What?" Pink stuttered, smiling nervously. "No," she laughed, crossing her arms. "If I went down into the Kindergarten, I wouldn't never hear the end of it from Yellow and Blue." Before Pearl could think about it, her diamond spoke again. Pink gasped again in wonder.
"But could you imagine, me, laughing and playing with the amethysts?" She raised an arm in earnest.

"Of course I can, my diamond," Pearl replied, wanting to make her diamond happy. She projected a hologram from her gem and showed it to Pink.
"You look so happy," Pearl observed.
Through the vague translucent projection, Pink could spot herself among the amethysts, laughing. She smiled, which make Pearl feel good. But then she scowled. 
"I won't be so happy when Blue and Yellow find out," said Pearl's diamond. Pearl grin widened mischievously.
"They won't find out," she replied, the hologram still displaying from her gem.
"How's that?"
"Because..." Pearl thought for a moment, then gasped happily to relish the moment. "You look just like a Quartz." The hologram shifted and Pink saw herself shape-shift and rotate her gem so the cut face outwards.
"You changed your shape for the day," Pearl added, but Pink wasn't paying much attention. She saw its, or rather her laughing face, her bright eyes.
She had just seen Rose for the first time.
"That's brilliant Pearl!" Praised Pink Diamond. Pearl's hologram retracted.
"I'm glad I was able to help my di-" Pearl stopped. Her diamond was gone. After omitting a faint pink aura, she had shrunk. She heard her diamond's cute giggle, and a fleshy hand wave hurriedly at her from just where her shoulders should be.
"Down here," she grinned. And thus Rose Quartz came to be.

If you noticed, I nearly used itallics. Anyway, I absolutely loved Pearl this episode. I hope this is enough for now, Part 4 is still under construction!!! I'm also rlly sorry if I'm unable to post credits to art when I am unaware of its source. I try, but I bet we've all been there ;-;
