Now We're Only Falling Apart [ PART 4 ]

Yo! Just a quick statement: I was originally going to produce four parts per episode, but I can see that's not gong to happen. For the juicer episodes, there may be in inconsistency for the amount of parts I'll need per episode, since they may need less or more. Sorry.

The warp pad of the Prime Kindergarten glowed.
"Pearl!" Pink Diamond called to her. Pearl directed her eyes towards what Pink was looking at. "Look!" gasped Pink. A row of amethysts marched across the Kindergarten's dusty floors, some more conversing and starting at their holes. The injectors were planted along the dirty walls, crawling along the surface. Pearl thought nothing of it, but turned it for diamond.
"This is... incredible!" Pink cried out in joy. "We gotta go down there and check it out!" Pearl let out a startled gasp as her diamond without further instruction grabbed her small hand and lifted her off the warp pad and landed on the Kindergarten below. In the distance, she could hear the faint 'pop' of an amethyst emerging, follow by many more.

"Pearl..." Pink breathed as Pearl cleared her dizziness. "This is so-" As she turned to look at her diamond, an amethyst pushed her diamond aside roughly.
"Out of my way!" She cried in a hoarse voice. Pink Diamond clattered to the ground.
"Oh no!" Pearl exclaimed, rushing to aid her fallen diallmond. "I'm so sorry," she continued. "These amethyst guards can be so rude." Pink smiled as though it were nothing.
"But Pearl, don't you see what's happening?"
"Huh?"
"We're actually here! And I am fitting right in!" Pearl thought Pink looked happier than she'd ever seen. Maybe this wouldn't be too bad.
"-none of that dumb salute, thank you so much for talking me into this," Pink said happily, placing her warm hands on Pearl's shoulders. "I couldn't of done this on my own." Pearl was stunned.
"Uhh... you're welcome my diamon-" Pink's soft finger pressed against Pearl's lips, and she was shushed immediately.
"Pearl..." her diamond whispered. She put on a mischievous grin. "You're going to get us in trouble."
"Sorry my..." Pearl struggled for a word. "...quartz." Her diamond clasped Pearl's hands and smiled even bigger. She began giggling. Pearl was tempted to join in, but her diamond pulled her away.

"Hey... fellow amethyst guards," Pink Diamond said in a too casual manner as she trotted towards a cluster of amethysts. "What are we all up to?"
"There's two more from our unit that haven't emerged yet, so we're gonna wait for 'em," replied one of the amethysts. At that moment, one of the holes began to glow.
"Here comes one of them," said the amethyst. The amethyst that had emerged groaned. Pink shuffled towards it.
"Oh wow, look at you," Pink cried, grabbing the amethyst by her shoulders. "Welcome to Earth."
"That is the first and nicest thing anyone has ever said to me," replied the newly emerged amethyst. Pearl heard footsteps behind her.

"What's going on here?" Demanded an amethyst that was running towards them. "Our orders were to move out as soon as you emerged."
"But... 8XM hasn't emerged yet," replied another amethyst.
"She can catch up with us later," ordered the amethyst. "Go go go!" The group of amethysts ran away hurriedly. Pearl spotted her diamond raise her arms and chant as if she was to follow them, so she hastily ran in front of her.
"Uh, my diamond, please," Pearl began worriedly. "Let's not draw any more attention to ourselves than we already have." Pink lowered her arms in defeat. She groaned.
"You're right," she said, disappointed. "But things were getting really fun..."
Pearl didn't want to upset her diamond like this. "What if...we took some time to explore some of Earth's..." she paused to smile excitedly. "...other features?" Pink gasped yet again.
"Pearl! You're so smart!"

"So, it was just... so she could get out and have some fun?" questioned Steven. Pearl had gotten so carried away with the story, she had forgotten her audience was listening. An empty pang went through her heart. Rose was gone. Sapphire was staring at the ground, her eye red and tear stained.
"Well, that's how it started," said Pearl, continuing with the story.

Pearl and her diamond neared the edge of the Kindergarten's dusty and barren fields. Tufts of grass were beginning to dot around on the dirt under her feet.
"So this.." said Pink. "is Earth." Even by Pearl's standards, it took her own breath away.
Vast valleys and hills stretched for millennium behind a pink flowery field. Hard rock with small plants spouting from underneath it were scattered across this paradise. Pearl thought it might be helpful to inform her diamond on her knowledge of the Earth.
"And this is just a small portion of the resources available for making gems on this planet," she confirmed.
"I have to see it all," Pink Diamond breathed in awe, placing a hand on Pearl's shoulder.

Pearl remember every little detail of what had happened for the remainder of the Earth day cycle. She remembered her diamond stopping to smell the flowers, hefting them in the air as the petals danced in the breeze. She remembered looking up at Pink, and noticing for once her joyful, beaming, beautiful face. She remembered blushing a bright blue as her diamond pulled her along quickly to investigate the rest of what they could find. They inspected little white butterflies like shards of ice on delicate flowed bushes, chasing them, laughing. Pink had again thanked Pearl fiercely, and even picking her up and swaying her around to share her delight in an even fiercer warm hug. Pearl had never had as much fun as this. But then, she remembered that after the slippery small fish had darted into its underwater blanket, she caught her diamond's gaze following a creature not so different as a gem. Humans, carrying hefty loads of clear water on their backs, grinning, leaving. Pearl saw Pink Diamond's face fall.

As stormy clouds blocked out the warm sun, the duo head back towards the Kindergarten. Pink looked sulky.
"Is everything alright, my diamond?" Pearl questioned worriedly. "You seem... troubled."
"All this life that's been growing here on earth," Pearl's diamond said in a soft voice. "None of it will survive my invasion." Pearl felt unachieved.
"We're not creating life from nothing," Pink whispered. "We're taking life, and leaving nothing behind." Thunder and lighting struck behind them warningly.
"Forgive me, my diamond," Pearl flustered, clasping her hands in her crushing way. "I shouldn't have brought you to such a place."
"No," said Rose Quartz solemnly as the rain began to fall lightly onto the sodden earth. "I need to see this." She stared at the Kindergarten with a new light in her no longer dancing eyes.

"So she did want to protect Earth," repeated Steven as the drizzling snow howled around him. "She didn't realise what the colony was doing to the planet." He looked at the ground in a different manner than before.
"So what?!" Sapphire screeched suddenly beside him, extending her arms in an angry gesture. Steven hadn't realised she was still listening. Sapphire looked up with a puffy, teared face, clenched her gem hand. "So she suddenly started to care about Earth?" She clutched her face. "Why did she have to rope us into all this?" She scrunched up her features. "Why couldn't she just stop the colonisation herself?!"
"She tried," Pearl cried. "When she told the other diamonds she didn't want to go though with the colony, they told her to finish what she started," she began. "When she told the other diamonds she wanted to preserve life on Earth, they created the Zoo and threw a handful of humans in." Pearl sighed wearily. "She did everything she could as Pink Diamond. But her status meant nothing to Blue and Yellow. So she decided to make a stand as someone they couldn't ignore," Pearl finished, relating the story back to Rose. "She was going to scare every gem off the planet. But everything changed when she saw..." Pearl looked at Sapphire.
"Your fusion."

Yet again another long chapter! I'm positive I can finish this episode within the next part (hopefully, fingers crossed!!). Aaaaah I'm so glad I was able to complete this. Whewww! If you told me the hiatus is over, I'd believe it (haha funny amethyst pun (no, not funny))! It's not funny, because 8XM hasn't emerged get
ok I'll stop.
