Tia's POV

"...an incident last night recorded on several CCTV security cameras and several bystander's personal phones. Four middle-aged men cornered a seventeen-year-old girl, whose identity she wishes to remain anonymous. Footage reveals that the four men, identified as local residents Ed Trueman, Jackson Eiyo, Norman Hudds and Paul Gnul, attempted to harass the girl, but were interrupted by a mysterious figure. Recordings show that the girl and the hooded figure ran from the men, only to make a stand against them only two blocks away, where seventeen bystanders were watching. Nearby police apprehended the four men, however, the two girls vanished. Witnesses on sight claimed that the hooded girl somehow created and manipulated her own fire to fight and get away. Since last night, smartphone videos have spread widely across social media platforms. People are referring to the hooded girl as simply 'Crimson' and she appears to be New York's latest superhero-"

Tony pressed his thumb onto the 'mute' button of the TV remote, "Yeah, that's enough of that."

"'Crimson', eh?" I mused, nearly dropping my spoon in my cereal, "Simple, but it's got a nice ring to it!"

"No," Tony glared, "You're too young to be worrying with this sort of stuff."

"I'm the same age as Peter, you let him help out!" I shot back.

Tony huffed and busied himself with downing the rest of his morning coffee.

Valerie was back at her own house. After bandaging my 'oh-so-terrible' injury, Pepper and Tony had held a lengthy conversation while Valerie had some food. Eventually, they had decided to take the girl back to her own home for the night.

"Morning," Yawned a tired voice. Pepper entered the room, hair wrapped up in a towel.

"Morning, Pepper," Tony raised his mug in greeting, smiling. I smirked, sliding my empty cereal bowl into the dishwasher.

"I'm heading off to school," I told the two adults, hurrying towards the elevator doorway. My backpack was slumped against the wall under the buttons, my jacket draped over it like a cloak.

"Have fun. Take it easy!" Pepper shouted.

"Don't do anything stupid," Tony called after me.

I grinned over my shoulder as the elevator doors slid open. I slung my bag over my left shoulder and stepped inside. Usually, I would carry it over my right shoulder, but Pepper gave me specific instructions not to put too much pressure on my cut.

Stupid crowbar.

The elevator doors shut with a click, and zoomed downwards.

I wonder if Val' will be at school today...

Spoiler alert, she was.

Valerie was waiting impatiently right inside the school gates, bouncing up and down on the balls of her feet.

I didn't even see her at first, until she came flying out of nowhere and practically body-slammed me. She grabbed my wrist and dragged me off to the side before clamping her hands around my shoulder urgently.
