You don't own me
Don't tell me what to do,
And don't tell me what to say

Evelyn's P.O.V

The sound of footsteps where getting closer to my door, and soon-
"Miss Waterson?" It was Sarah, one of the maids, she was holding an envelope. "Yes?" I said, getting up from my chair, it's been a while since I've seen a face, or at least- a friendly one. "I've received a letter from your cousin Dustin in Miami, he wants you to visit" she handed me the envelope, then walked out the door, closing it behind her. I sighed, this was all to much to handle, dad striking rich with some oil he found, me and my brother Erik getting excited about our new mansion, my mother dying, my father remarried to a motherfucker by the name of Emily Smith. And if my life was a fairy tale, it would probably be Snow White, since my new mother acted exactly like the evil witch. I hated her, and from the looks of it, she only married my father for the money, not for love, unfortunately he was to blind to see it. Taking my mind off her, I carefully opened the envelope:

Dear Evelyn,
What's up? I herd uncle max made it big over there! Congrats! Think you can come over to my beach house? Your dad said it was cool, Erik can come too, I haven't seen him in years. I'm also really sorry to hear about your mother, she was an amazing person. How's your new one by the way?
To infinity and beyond,
Dustin
When I finished reading, I slipped the letter into my drawer and found that there was something else in the envelope, I looked inside to see a golden key, with a chain imprinted into the key was the word "Evelyn" I smiled.
Not long after that it was dinner time, I still wasn't used to other people giving me food on gold and silver platters, Erik however, loved it. And so did our *cough* mother *cough* just seeing her face disgusts me, she could never, ever replace my mother, never.
After dinner I went into my room and looked at it, and I mean really looked at it, as a kid, blue was my favorite color, so that's what my room looked like, a blue chandelier, a large tv, a large bed, a full size patio, along with a training room. Ever since my father went big time with the oil, I've picked up fencing, a had a large collection of swords.
While I was still looking at my room, I heard my door open, and the last person I expected to see came walking in. "Ever herd of knocking?" I said coldly, I wasn't going to show any sympathy for this asshole. "What's your problem?" She asked, giving me a death stare. "Isn't it obvious?" I said taking a step forward in her direction, "you are!" Emily just smirked, and took two steps forward, "listen bitch" she said, grabbing me by the throat, not too hard, but definitely not soft either, "so you where right, and? Do expect some sort of reward? Once I get enough money, I'll dump your fathers sorry ass, and start my own life" "you disgust me!" I screamed, I quickly brought my knee up to her chin, and she instantly let go of my throat, I coughed and wheezed, after a while sweet, sweet oxygen began to fill my lungs again. I herd a soft knock at my door, and Erik's face poked in, "Eve? Mom? Are the two of you okay? I heard screaming in here...." he looked between the two of us worriedly. "We're fine sweetie" Emily said, I cringed at the hint in her voice, "Evie here was showing me a new move she learned in fencing!" Erik looked at me for confirmation and I nodded yes, but squinted my eyes, I guess he got the message, because he nodded and walked away, closing the door behind him.
Emily then turned to me and kicked my face to the side, I fell on my back, but immediately got up again when I saw her try to throw a punch. I dodged quickly and her fist landed on my full-size mirror, which shattered from impact, frustrated and angry, she aimed for my face one more time, I tried to dodge it but I wasn't quick enough.
One of her knuckles had a huge piece of glass, and it grazed my left eye from the top of my eyebrow to my cheekbone, it looked like it would leave a scar.
And that's when my fencing kicked in.
I didn't really remember that much of what happened, only that there was a lot of kicking and screaming and cursing and blood.
Lots of it, by the time I realized what happened, I was outside, where our private jet and helicopter where parked, I ran to the small building nearby and found our personal pilot, Michael, in his office.
"Hello miss waterson!" He said, as I entered the office, "is there anything I ca- what happened to your eye? It's bleeding!" I was still trying to figure out what happened when I completely forgot about my eye,
"Micheal" I said grabbing a napkin from his desk counter, I brought it to my face and looked at it, I was bleeding pretty badly, I looked back up at Michael with one eye, since my other one still couldn't be opened yet.
"I need to go to Miami"
