Just one incident changed their lives. It wasn't big but in the eyes of the netizens, it was first time in the history of kpop idols.
Jin and Irene were members of two hottest kpop groups - Bangtan Sonyeondan and Red Velvet.

"They have rejected you" The Manager said as his eyes conveying sadness.
"But why.." She asked while keeping a steady tone.
"They said you're too old for the commercial, they just want someone who represent youthfulness" he gave her a sympathetic look.
"Huh?" she couldn't say anything more. She only cursed her growing age.
Irene, the leader of the girl group RedVelvet was one the most famous female idol. The small face and the feminine features were something that the whole nation crushed on. But the only thing that made Irene at the loose end was her age as she was a little more mature than an average idol. In the debut days of the girl group, this thing didn't really mattered much. But now that the group is reaching their 4th year, age is something that had crawled in on every topic especially for Irene
The commercial wasn't that big ; it was for a beauty soap but they wanted a young girl probably in her early 20s to advertise the it to convey innocence. But the constant rejection because of her age made Irene anxious.
Her mood have been bad. The Visual Irene with whom everyone wants to swap their looks, also have days when she's not happy with herself. This is something that even her fans and close one would find hard to believe.
Rigth at that time the Stylist unni came with the dresses that the girls have to wear in today's award show. One by one every member tried the dress.
The one who was left was Irene, when trying the little black off shoulder dress which highlights the perfect collar bone of the visual, the stylist noticed that it was a little small on Irene.
Irene noticed it too and thought to herself
"Wow. I'm old and now I'm also fat"
"It's a litle tight..hmm..why don't you try this one."
The stylist picked a blue dress from the side and extended it towards her.
"NO...I will wear this dress only" surprising everyone with her stubborn voice.
"Unni" Seulgi said "even if you wear this blue one it won't matter, you'll look equally pretty in both"
She was right. Both the dress were really beautiful, the only difference was that the black one was a little tight around the waist highlighting the perfect waist of the girl. But with Irene's visual both the dressed looked good on her.
If it was any other day Irene would have agreed but today with the commercial rejection and the dress being small for her, it was her self esteem that have been hurt.
"I will not eat till our performance...then this will fit easily"
This was one of the methods that a lot of their senior have used previously.
To starve themselves to lose weight.
Not the most practical idea but it works to lose few pounds in few hours.
"That's dangerous unni" Wendy said.
"...You don't have to starve for a night just to fit in a dress"
"Nothing will happen...I will eat just after our performance till then i could endure it"
Even the assuring smile that Irene said giving was not enough. The two maknae and the stylist were just quite and were wondering to themselves about whether it okay to starve oneself just to fit in a simple black dress.
But all the people in the room knew about what a female idol has to do to comply with the demands of this sexist industry.
That whole night till the next evening Irene ate nothing and drank only water. She took some appetite suppressing pills to reduce the surge to eat.

"Hurry up" The manager shouted at the 7 boys who were dressed in formal clothing from head to toe.
The 7 boys were the member of the hottest boy group 2018 : Bangtan Sonyeondan or BTS as most of their fans calls them. They boarded two different cars to reach the venue of the award show.
Jin, Jimin, j hope and V were in a car together whereas the other 3 members RM, Suga and Jungkook took the another car. In the car all four of them were discussing about the special performance they have prepared for their fans : ARMY.
After a while j hope or hobi the cute name given to him by the fans asked "Who are all other artist performing today?"
Jimin the 3rd youngest of the group answered "*** sunbaenim, *********, ****, ***, *******, ****** and Red velvet." With the mention of the last name there was this hidden smile on the members faces.
Red velvet was a 5 membered girl group who had debuted 1 year later then them. In a few variety show they were asked about the girl group they wanted to be close with and naively they answered the girl group they really liked : RED VELVET.
Since then everything started - the dating rumours, fan arts of photoshopping the members together and aggressive fans from both the groups started bashing the other idol.
One of the couple Jimin × seulgi or seulmin as their fans calls them together became so popular that even their similar clothes were also seen as a sign of dating. Consequently the girl group with whom they wanted to be close with became the group they are most distant with. Members from both the groups started reserving any interaction with each other in front of the camera.
The members thought to themselves that even this ceremony will also be gone with no contact with the girls.
