This man gave her the most adorable eyes that for a moment she got lost in them. She felt safe. She yearned for such a feeling because as of now, she felt nothing but confusion and fearfulness. It was an unfamiliar feeling to her and she hated it. She felt like she was loosing her mind, as if all those rumors spread around her were correct. Was she insane? Maybe Eliza was right and this was all a bad dream due to her exhaustion. She almost wished she was right and she could put this nightmare to bed but when had anything went right for her?
She adjusted herself, standing up properly though his hands remained to her upper arms. He gave a gentle touch with no further intentions then to ensure she was balanced and okay. "Are you alright?"
He could see the terror in her eyes, the terror as if she saw something she didn't quite understand. He was returning to his dorm momentarily since he forgot something important.
"Not really." She shook her head and said honestly. She didn't know why she was rendering so weak among his presence. She managed to keep most of her composure, but even so, she couldn't help but proclaim her troubles to this man.
He released her, lowering his hands down to his sides. He offered her a small smile, a friendly one at that just to ease her. "We could talk about it in my dorm if you want. I was on my way there anyways and-...." He paused, rethinking his choice of words. He was in debate if he should even say anything. His big mouth got the best of him. "... you do kind of owe me one."
Angelica gasped in the revelation to it all. With all this happening it slipped her mind. She had missed their date last night. Either she truly missed it or she was prohibited from going. She truly had no clue. "Oh Alexander! I forgot all about it!"
"Ouch...." He placed a hand to his chest with a dramatically exaggerated gasp of shock. "I'm that forgettable then?" He jokingly teased, which only made her feel guilty judging from that look that came over her face.
"No. No not ever. Not- what I mean..." she sighed, burying her face into her hands. She made a small gulp then lowered her hands to fix her embarrassment.
"It's fine." He assured. "You just missed some really good fedaccini." He shrugged his shoulders, lifting his arms up in the process. "But what can you do?" He said dismissively.
She eased, smiling a little. She let out a breathless giggle. She needed it among the chaos. As he began to walk in a casual pace, Angelica joined his side. His presence calmed her. She didn't know why specifically, but she felt sane around him.
"So... I couldn't help but notice you came from Jefferson's dorm." Alex began. "If that asshole has been causing you trouble then just say the word and I'll tell him off right now."
"Alexander." She sternly warned with a gracious smile. "I'm quite capable of defending myself, thank you very much." Her smile faded away as she stared off at nothing in particular but the need to retrace her memories. "But no... I don't think so. I thought-" She exhaled slowly which garnered Alex's attention worriedly. "Oh, it sounds preposterous."
"Try me. It can't sound any worse than what comes out of John Adam's mouth." He chuckled to himself by the more than truthful words.
That got the slightest smirk out of her just before she spoke again. "When I returned to my dorm yesterday I thought.. I.. could of sworn-... Thomas called me.."
"Could of sworn? What, did you not answer or something?"
"I thought I did."
"Angelica, you're not making any sense."
They made it to Alex's dorm. He pulled out the keycard and scanned it against the slot so it could open before he held the door open for her so she could enter inside first. Any normal circumstance and Angelica would be biting his head off for it, but these weren't normal circumstances for her. She walked through before Alexander, just before he followed along. Once she was inside, he closed the door behind them while he listened to her clarification.
