As she hopped off the bus, Courtney took in her surroundings. The open campus, the dirty bathrooms, the noisy cafeteria, the tidy classrooms. Basically her old schools all over again. This would be just like old times, or would it? Suddenly, a girl, about her age, was walking up to her. "Hi. I'm Jasmine." "Um, um, um." And poor Courtney ran away. "Well, that was strange," Jasmine said. With that, Jasmine headed off to class. As Courtney got to her first class, English, she noticed that the same girl, Jasmine, from earlier was in the desk right next to hers. "This must be a sign,"she thought. "I guess I am just meant to be friends with this girl." With that final thought, Courtney walked over to Jasmines desk and introduced herself. She had no idea for what to say so she started with "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have run away from you earlier, I'm Courtney. It's my first day at this school," she managed. "That's ok. I get it. It is scary at new schools. I'm Jasmine by the way. Oh...wait, I already said that." " Well, I have to go get ready for class, talk at PE," Courtney asked. "Sure." " Ok." Courtney returned to her seat feeling quite pleased with herself. She actually talked to someone, and they were nice to her! That added a new skip in her step as she made her way to her seat. Her teacher, Mrs. Frizzlebaulm, ran her finger nails along the blackboard, making the whole class cover their ears at the terrible sound. "Students, take your seats please. Today, we will learn about the usage of nouns and verbs. Please open your books to page 394," she demanded. At least other one thing was similar to her other schools. The teachers were mean. Except that was NOT a good thing.
