Courtney's mom was knocking at her bedroom door. Court reluctantly got up and strode across her neat bedroom to her door, in order to let her mother in. She opened the door and her mom cane in and plopped on her bed. "Sweetie, you are not this at all, but it is unfortunately necessary. I have organized a meeting with your teacher and principal to talk about Steven," she explained. "Wh-Wh-What," Courtney sputtered. "Why?! It is fine I will sort it out myself." "No it is not fine," her mom said firmly. "You are going to this meeting and you will sort it out. Plus, Steven and his parents will be there and it took forever to find a space on their busy schedules." Sighing with resignation, Courtney agreed and back flopped onto her bed a second before Sadie sidled in and hopped to on Court's bed. Nudging her lightly, Sadie signaled that she was feeling for her and also that she wanted to play. Court decided that wallowing in her misery will do mining for her, so she put Sadie on her leash and jogged. She ran so hard, so as to toss aside her misery that she got home entirely exhausted. When Courtney woke up in the morning, she found that she was sore and well-rested, but also that running her heart out did nothing and her problems were still getting steadily closer. Court just wished that time would slow down. She made up her mind that simply laying there forever would do nothing for her, so she threw off her covers and swung her legs over the edge of the bed. After slapping on some clothes that looked semi-formal, she trotted downstairs for breakfast, which she found sitting on the counter....with a note. It read, 'Dear Court, I have gone to the market. I will be back in time for the meeting. Here's your breakfast. See you soon! Love, mom.' Great. Another reminder about the meeting. She gobbled down her breakfast and finished getting ready. A knock at the door told her to finish up because her mom was home. The mother and daughter hopped in the car and sped off towards the school.
