"Hiyori... D-do you... Remember me?"

Yukine stood before Hiyori, his eyes seemed to plead her to say yes. A part of him wanted her to be the old Hiyori he knew. Yet, another part of him wished her ties were still severed. A part of him wished she can't see him standing before her, with balled fists and watery eyes.

Hiyori looked into Yukine's eyes, her own eyes displayed pure confusion and innocence. She did not recognize who he was. Though inside, she felt something. Deep down, she felt the need to understand, the need to know...

"Do I... know you?"

~•~

"Was it all a dream?" Hiyori blinked, waking up and finding herself leaning on a wall, in a small alley.

No. It wasn't a dream.

Her senses were suddenly alerted, adrenaline pumping suddenly. She was still in Capypa land, the now burning and chaotic amusement park.
She quickly brought herself in her feet as she tried to remember what happened. Vacation... Food... Explosion... A boy.

"No, no. Ami and Yama!" Hiyori stood up, suddenly feeling a pang of pain in her leg. It was bleeding. A long cut was engraved in her right leg, making her have difficulty in walking.

"H-help!" She shouted with all her strength. She was too overwhelmed with everything. No one was around, nothing but fire and debris.

She continued limping her way to the exit, "Where are all the people? The ambulances? Rescue? The police and firetrucks?"

It was as if she was in a different dimension, no one was there when she reached the front gate. It was.. Closed.

"What is going on?" She ran to the gate, pulling the locks open. "Help me! Open the door!"

"Sekki,"

A faint call came from somewhere in the park made Hiyori turn around. "Hello?"
No one responded, she walked to the sound's source. "Please, help me! I can't open the door, do you know what's happening?"

Nothing. She took a step closer, and another, and another.

"Don't move."

Hiyori froze, her body felt a sudden jolt with the sudden sound of voice behind her. A cold, stern voice of a guy. The owner was so close, with a strong grip on her wrist, Hiyori could almost feel the hot breath of the person in her ear.

"What?"

"Shhh."

"Look, I just," She turned around, raising her wrist that is being held by the stranger and facing him. "I just need to--"

The air around them stood still. The crackling of fire was silenced, and it was as if time has stopped itself.

Hiyori's pink eyes came in contact with the stranger's ice blue ones.

In front of Hiyori, holding her wrist, was a guy with dark hair. Wearing what seemed like a black tracksuit with white details and a torn blue scarf. He had two katanas in his other hand, both had white bandages wrapped around an end.

The stranger's face was masked with a cold look. But his eyes... It seemed to tell more.

He looked... Familiar. Who is he?

A rustle and soft mumbling took both of them off the trance. The stranger was alerted, his grip left Hiyori's wrist. He held the two katanas, and stood before Hiyori.

His actions took Hiyori aback, "What are you doing? You could hurt someone!" She tried to lower down the blades, "That could be the rescue team or something."

"Wha-?" The stranger looked at her in disbelief, "No stop it!"

"You're going to kill people with that!"

"What?! No! Let go Hiyori!"

"How did yo--"

"SmELls NiCE" Hiyori spun around, an eerie, discorded voice chanted behind her. She shreiked in disbelif.

In front of her stood a creature five inches taller than her. A huge green and violet stuffed doll. Its horrid eyes had pupils uncontrollably moving, but not until its eyes settled on Hiyori.

She felt a masculine arm around her waist, tugging her out of the way of the monstrous creature as it reached for her. She heard a slash of sword as the boy broke the white thing, a sort of mask, in the creature's forehead.

Hiyori stumbled back, her bum hitting the cold hard ground. The creature exploded into a ray of bright white patterned light.

"What is going on?! What is that?!"

The stranger didn't respond, he just looked at Hiyori.

No. He looked at something behind her. He just noticed it until now. The stranger's eyes widened, as if he just saw something that frightened him. He roamed his eyes around, looking for something he did not see. There was this thing, a cord like thing, attached to Hiyori's back.

Her tail is back.

Hiyori noticed his expression, "Is there something in my back?! Another weird creature?!" She expected another terrifying  monster in her back, but instead, she saw a long and pink tail.

"What is this?!"

"No. This shouldn't happen.." The stranger muttered to himself, in deep thought. "Except if..." He closed his eyes and let out an expression, as if he just realized something. And it was bad.

Headache struck Hiyori once more. She was too overwhelmed, she had too much questions and not a single answer.

A tail, monsters and being stuck in a destroyed park. She just couldn't explain.

But she knew the stranger knows something. She knows something, a lot of things, she don't and she needs to know.

He could answer all of her questions.

He is the answer to her questions.

The stranger suddenly pulled her up, Hiyori stood frozen once more. Numerous creatures with the same white mask on the top of their heads. Different kinds in different forms, yet everyone had the same crazed eyes.

He stood in defense, brows almost knitted together. His blade sharp, and his stand firm. He was ready to protect Hiyori. Even though she doesn't remember.

They surrounded the two. Each one ready to attack, chanting the same phrase.

But they also heard something behind the chatter of chants.

Laughter.

A girl's sickeningly sweet laughter silenced the chants. Walking slowly towards them is a small girl. She had a short black hair, wearing white robe with red and gold sash. She also had a white triangle cloth in her head, a hitaikakushi. Her eyes were a dark violet, almost looking like her eyes were black.

"Oh Hiyori, nice to see you again."

The little girl smiled.
