"Are you sure this is a good idea?"

Odin turned to see Nyx standing behind him in the shadows of the hallway, her head tilted and a serious look in her red eyes. "It's what milord and Lord Takumi's retainers wish," he replied.

She crossed her arms, lips pursed underneath her veil. "That's what Niles said. But have you taken into account what he himself wishes?"

"I have," Odin replied firmly, folding his current notepaper, since he was fairly certain that he wasn't going to get any work done on his current spell during this conversation. "We both saw what Lord Takumi was during the war. We both sensed something horribly wrong with him, as did Lady Azura. There is none of that air around that door, and there is therefore no reason for him to not be able to control his actions."

"He seems to think that there is."

"That's just his way of thinking. Believe me, if someone screwed with my head in such a way, I wouldn't trust myself either." Odin tucked the paper away. "I'd also be in need of serious help... most people already think I need serious help, though, so I don't know how reliable my point of view on this is."

"I don't think you need serious help, but you are more reasonable than usual today." Nyx arched an eyebrow. "So you think that you're helping him by doing this."

"Didn't being dragged out of solitude help you?" She stared at him, and he gave a slight shrug. "It didn't take a lot of work to dig up your history, and I know that you did something similar to what Lord Takumi's doing now in order to protect the people around you. Forgive me if I'm being too forward, but I know that you're far happier with Niles than you were by yourself. Niles is happier with you around as well. So I'm going to try and get rid of that door for Lord Takumi's sake and for the sake of everyone surrounding him."

Nyx stared at him for another moment before closing her eyes in a smile. "You're smarter than everyone gives you credit for, Odin Dark."

He grinned. "Thanks. Sorry for bringing up that stuff."

"It's not an issue." She shook her head, her mane of busy black hair swishing behind her. "So, what's the plan?"

"The fell stars of knowledge aren't speaking to me," he admitted sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head. "I want to move the barricade without upsetting him too badly, since everyone's in the palace now. Not sure how to go about doing that... he's been quiet, but I'm not sure if he's asleep, and if he is, if moving things will wake him up."

"Hmm..." she turned her head down the hall toward Lord Takumi's room, and her red eyes narrowed. "We've got company."

"Huh?" Odin turned his head that way and saw Arthur looking their way from the other end of the hall. "Just the guy with terrible luck..." a sudden thought occurred to him, and he waved for Arthur to come over. "I wonder..."

"What are you doing?" Nyx asked as the man began hurrying toward him. "I make it a point to stay away, his luck's bad enough."

"Accidentally angering Lord Takumi by accidentally breaking his door down would be pretty unlucky, don't you think?"

"Eh?" She looked at him in surprise. "There's no way that's going to-"

"Wh-whoa!" Arthur cried, his right leg suddenly sliding sideways, moving his bulky form straight into Lord Takumi's door. His foot hit a part of the door a few inches off of the ground, and there was a sudden, sharp cracking sound. Right where Lord Takumi had cracked it earlier, evidently, because the door snapped in two, making the top half land on Arthur along with a dresser and several other items.

The two dark mages stared in shock at the scene for a moment, then looked at each other, then flinched back as Princess Hinoka came barrelling down the hall with Oboro in close pursuit. "Takumi?"

Nyx and Odin hurried after the two women as they rushed to the door. Arthur was crawling out from under the boards. "A thousand apologies," he was telling Princess Hinoka as Oboro just leaped over all of the rubble to get to Lord Takumi, who huddled in the corner of the room. "My foot slipped, and the next thing I knew-"

"An accident?" Princess Hinoka blinked, and then raised her head to look in the room.

Lord Takumi was staring at the broken door, brown eyes wide with disbelief under his disheveled gray bangs. He looked at Oboro as she stood over him, then at Princess Hinoka, then back at the door. "How?" he curled deeper into the corner. "It... it's not supposed to open," he protested.

Oboro knelt next to him, murmuring softly. Odin caught a glimpse of Hinata, Niles and Lord Leo all peeking around the corner of the hall. "Let's get out of here, fellow Nohrians," he murmured. Mission accomplished. Now to see if the Hoshidans would allow them to help with Lord Takumi's headcase. Hinata hurried toward them, and he, Nyx and Arthur headed down the hall toward Lord Leo and Niles.
