That can keep me prisoner

Can keep it's contents safe from me
When I hear that traveling beat
Gotta move these merchant feet
Ain't no profit out there
That I ain't lookin' to keep
Ain't no dead
Gonna make me join their ranks
Ain't no rivers
That'll keep my goal from me
I'm a scoundrel and thief
But just come knocking round
You'll find an ally
To help fight those who hate the free
