She started pushing me towards starbucks. "We have to tell Treesa." I nodded in agreement. But as we got closer to starbucks, I noticed that tony was sitting in a chair in front of the shop, probably just waiting for his drink. I gasped and quickly spoke before we got any closer.
"Clara Stop! Tony is right there!" Clara looked closer and smiled.
"Ohhhh. We should go say hi!" She said.
"No no no no! Clara!" She ignored me as she pushed towards him. I tried to get the wheelchair to stop, but it wasn't working. She got even closer but before he noticed us coming, We heard a voice.
"Ava! Clara!" Treesa called from behind the counter. We looked in her direction, and so did tony. She waved to us, and Clara and I waved back. Tony looked away from Treesa and looked towards me. He smiled and nodded. I smiled awkwardly and waved. Clara noticed this, and started pushing me towards him so we could hear what he was saying. I didn't hear the first part of what he said, but I caught the end of it.
"But I think I scared you off." I wanted to say a normal response. But I didn't. Because that's what I do. So I laughed like a psycho.
"HAHAHAHA." I laughed awkwardly but I stopped immediately with a straight face. He looked uncomfortable, and I could feel how uncomfortable Clara was feeling. I had no idea how to react at this. He sat there and without getting up, he kept speaking.
"So, Uh... I heard that you jumped out of a helicopter for some pretty important papers." I was just about to speak, But before I said anything, Clara spoke for me, hoping to avoid another awkward reaction.
"Yeah... It was pretty stupid of her... " I didn't say anything. I only looked around, hoping to avoid eye contact.
"So... How did you not die?" I processed his question and thought for a moment.
"I don't know..."
"The doctors said that it was a miracle that she lived." He nodded.
"Ah... So you just broke both your legs?" I shrugged.
"Apparently so." I told him. He laughed, and Clara giggled. I smiled, or at least tried to, when I heard a booming voice from behind us.
"TONY!" We all flew our heads around and saw phil staring at Tony. He noticed us, and flipped his hands threw his coat and put his hands on his hips.
"Can I speak to you?" Tony stuttered for a moment, but he stood up and walked away without speaking to us. Me and Clara looked at each other and mentally decided to go to my dorm. After she left me to tend myself, I laid in bed, and relaxed.
(Going by the narrator's point of view)
Without speaking, Phil lead Tony down a hallway into a darkly lit room with a table against the wall. Only it wasn't a table. It was a keyboard. Phil tapped on it a few times with tony staring at the wall for a moment. Finally tony began to ask questions.
"What's going on?" He asked. Right then, A blue light filled the room. The monitor shined brightly at Tony and Phil. Phil tapped the keyboard and few times, and then turned towards Tony again. I need to show you something. Tony stepped closer as Phil turned back towards the monitor. He pulled up an ancient photo of a black figure, drawn with charcoal on a stone wall that looked to have been in the B.C era. Tony was confused, and looked back at Phil without saying anything.
"It's a lot of explaining, so you might want to pull up a chair." Tony looked behind him and pulled up the nearest chair and sat down.
"Alright... Explain." He said. Phil sat down in a chair and sighed.
"Do you know what the 'Black Death' is?" Tony was confused, but he responded.
"The black death? That's a myth." Phil shook his head.
"No it's not." He pointed towards the screen and began explaining it. "This right here, was drawn millions of years ago. It's black death." Tony stared at the screen in disbelief.
"It's an actual thing?" He scoffed. "You're kidding." Phil shook his head.
"I'm afraid not." He continued. "Black death hasn't been on the earth since B.C. But it decided to return, In this century."
"Why?"
"Well, the form can't posses a host for millions of years in between."
"Why?" Tony asked again. He shrugged.
"We don't know. We think it might be because of power or something."
"Power?"
"It needs enough power to contain a host. If it doesn't have enough power, it and the host could die."
"But this one has enough?"
"So we've seen." He responded.
"But who is the host?" Tony asked questioningly. Phil sighed.
"I'm getting to that." He said. "This thing is so powerful, that nothing can defeat it. Except its own antivenom."
"Venom?"
"This thing is the most powerful thing that has ever lived."
"What can it do?" He laughed slightly.
"Where do I start? First off, its completely black- literally black like darkness. It has horns, teeth, and a snake tongue. It has a devil tail, and its hands are about twice the size of ours. The fingers are razor sharp, and can light anything it cuts on fire. She has yellow slits in its black eyes and-"
"She?" Tony's curiosity was killing him, but after Phil had said she, he had to know. Phil looked as if he made the biggest mistake of his life.
"Well that's where I was getting to... the host... it's... Ava." Tony looked stunned.
"What do you mean?" He sighed.
"You saw it."
"What? Phil, I think I would've remembered seeing something like that." Phil shook his head.
"No you wouldn't've. We had to mind sweep you."
"Mind sweep me? Phil, why?"
"To protect Ava! If she would ever remember anything good about you or her parents, she would remember Rosalin-" Phil stopped mid sentence.
"Rosaline?" He asked. "It has a name?"
"Yes! It has a name, and has a mind of its own. This thing could kill every living thing on the planet. Maybe the entire universe. The only thing to stop it, is by killing the host."
"So to stop this thing, you'd have to kill... Ava?" He asked.
"Yes..." Phil said hesitantly. "The venom inside of it has to be turned into an anti venom, and that's the only thing that can heal someone that has been scratched or bitten by the black death."
"Would you do it?" Tony asked. Phil didn't speak for a moment, but he had to answer.
"Only if we had to." He responded
"But Ava isn't a bad person! She hasn't done anything!"
"But she can! Tony, You don't understand! We just need to stay aware of her actions, and you can't... you can't be around her anymore..."
"What...? Why?"
"Tony, you we're like a brother to Lucas, and his daughter was like a daughter to you. Remember?" Tony nodded slowly.
"Yes..."
"That was Ava..." Tony was speechless.
"No... It..." Phil sighed.
"And if Ava remember's her past, than she'll remember Black death too. She can't remember."
"Did you mind sweep her too?"
"We had to..."
"So Ava doesn't even remember her parents?"
"She does... But... Nothing good."
"What?" Tony was confused.
"Everything about Rosaline is connected to memories about her parents. Good, memories."
"Good memories?! Nothing at all? She just remembers them yelling at her or getting mad at hers?"
"No... They never yelled at her, they we're only..."
"So she doesn't remember anything?" Phil shook his head.
"Not really, No." Tony rubbed the back of his neck out of frustration.
"Unbelievable."
"We're sorry Tony. It had to happen. Everyone could find out and die. Or even worse, If people find out first, a lot more could happen to Ava." Tony wanted to ask what, but he didn't dare. He could only imagine.
"So Ava, Is my 'Niece'?" Phil nodded. Knowing Tony's metaphor.
"I'm sorry Tony... " Tony stood up and looked towards Phil. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. He calmly and slowly walked out of the room, leaving Phil behind. Phil sat in his chair and sighed again, rubbing his face in guilt.
"It had to be done..." He whispered. It had to be done...Hello everyone,
I will not be able to update on Thursday because I will be camping (ugh) so I will see you all next week!
