Troye's POV:
This was it. My bag was packed, and I smiled in satisfaction knowing that I was about to get the most amazing and insane experience of my life. Some crazy people decided to start a new thing called the "Youtuber Project," and when I found out I was elected to be on it, I couldn't deny it. It was sort of like the show Big Brother, except for everyone knew each other. There was going to be ten of us, in one house, 5 girls and 5 boys, and it was going to get crazy.
We had all heard of the Youtuber Project a month ago. Nobody knew who was going to be chosen though, but I was desperately hoping that I would be, along with my best friends in the entire world. I knew we would be competing against each other, but it still would mean the world to get to spend more time with all of them.
When I found out about it, they told me I only had an hour to pack. That sucked, I'm going to be honest. Worse was knowing that we were going to be livestreamed to the Youtuber Project Youtube page 24/7. It was scary, but exciting at the same time. I was ready.
The people behind the Youtuber Project had sent a private jet to pick me up at the airport. I guess I was the only Australian Youtuber invited to be on the show, but that really wasn't too surprising. There wasn't too many of us, and I was by far the most popular.
My entire family, other than Steele, drove me to the airport. Steele was away, but I knew he was wishing me luck. Throughout the entire drive there, Sage and Tyde pestered me on how I had to win. "I know, I know," I would tell them, but they just continued on.
"If you win, you'll win 1 million dollars!" Sage exclaimed.
"Trust me, I know. You have yet to let me forget about that," I said with a roll of my eyes. My family being annoying was just what I needed to make sure that I wouldn't get homesick at all.
When we got there, I hugged my mom and siblings. My dad decided that he would walk me to the gate, which I honestly didn't mind. I guess he was planning on giving me some of his expert fatherly advice.
When we were almost there, he placed a hand on my shoulder. "Whatever happens, just remember who you are," he said. "You're a good kid, Troye. Remember that."
"What do you mean?" I asked him. Sometimes he could be so cryptic with his messages.
"I mean, don't do anything you would regret."
"So, no nudity then?" I asked him, trying not to laugh.
"I wouldn't suggest it," he said with a smile, knowing that I was only joking. "Bye Troye."
He turned to go and I started toward the gate. Out of nowhere, a man jumped out wearing a rather cheesy looking suit. "Troye Sivan!" he greeted me. "So nice to finally meet you!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch your name," I replied back evenly.
"The name is Jack Young," he said, extending his hand. I cautiously took it and shook. "I'm in charge of the Youtuber Project, actually."
"Yes, I recognize your name now. It's a pleasure to meet you, but may I ask why you decided to pick me up instead of the other Youtubers?"
He smiled at me, but it somehow scared me. "Well, all of the other contestants are already at the studio. You're the only international contestant on the show."
If that didn't seem suspicious, I didn't know what would. I was far from the most famous international Youtuber. I mean, Pewdiepie had a few more subscribers than me. Only a few.
"O-kay" I said, clearly separating each syllable. I was far past skeptical about this. However, it was still a good opportunity to grow my channel, so I didn't hesitate to walk past him and onto the plane. This was going to be the craziest summer of my life.
Once seated, I immediately pulled out my phone. My small bag that they had given me to bring stuff with was already stashed over my head. "I'm so sorry, Troye," Jack said as he approached me, "but I'm going to have to take that from you. You didn't by chance Tweet about any of this, right?"
"Of course not. That was against the rules." I put the best fake smile on that I could, and he clearly bought it.
"Good, good. Well, also, phones and other electronic devices are against the rules." He plucked my phone out of my hand.
"HEY-"
"Don't worry, you'll get it back immediately after the show is done." A smug smile played across his lips. I really didn't like this Jack guy. "You wouldn't mind if I searched your bag?" he asked. "Standard protocol, of course."
"Yeah, sure. My phone was all the electronics I brought with me, though." It wasn't a lie. I knew electronics were against the rules, but I still wanted to just have a few last moments with my phone before I had to say goodbye. Honestly, it was heart wrenching.
After he was satisfied that there was no other illegal objects in my bag, he went back up to the front of the plane. I was glad to be left alone. It left time to examine the situation ahead of me. I was going to be put in a house full of nine other people that I know. Potentially people that I'm really great friends with. How was I supposed to go behind their backs? Were friendships going to be ruined? I had been so happy and excited to be on this show, but now I could feel regret filling my heart.
Then the inevitable thought crossed my mind. Tyler. Tyler Oakley. Was he going to be there?
Suddenly, something clicked for me. He was. He was definitely going to be there, and now it made sense why I was asked to be there too. Ratings. They wanted ratings, and they knew they would get that with Troyler under the same roof. Shit. This was not good at all, especially since Tyler and I had recently started discussing our feelings more and more often with each other. I mean, we would flirt with each other over Skype all the fucking time. He even told me that he liked me, and I had told him that I like him too. How was this going to happen?
"Oh, Jack!" I called up. He snapped his head around at an almost inhuman speed.
"Yes?" he asked, his voice flat. Slowly, he started walking toward me when I didn't respond.
"Am I allowed to make a guess at one of the participants?"
"I suppose so. Whether I can disclose the information is another story."
"So you can't tell me if I'm right or not?"
"Correct," he said with a small nod.
"Well, that sort of defeats the purpose. Go back to being a robot," I replied, making a shooing motion. He gave me an exasperated look, but left nonetheless. What a great start to a great summer.
Authors Note:
Hey. So... this is my second Troyler fanfic I've decided to write and I feel like this one is going to be my baby. I've always wanted to write an actual totally AU one.
Recently I've been SOOOO addicted to Big Brother, and it gave me the inspiration to write this. Hope you like it.
There will be Troyler interaction in the chapters to come, I assure you.
Disclaimer: There will not be anything too smutty at all. I just don't like writing that stuff (but I'm okay with reading it of course hahahaha).
My name is Kat by the way. My tumblr is troylertv.tumblr.com. You should probably go follow it.
ALSO: I have a question. Should I only write in Troye's POV? A lot of fanfics do duel POVs and I kinda want to be different. What's your opinion on it?
Thanks!
