Troye's POV:
As soon as I saw those two men jump out of that car, I knew what was going on. Some how, Jack had gotten word to the people he worked with, and now they were coming after us. The two of us hopped to our feet immediately, disregarding the half finished McDonalds in front of us.
The men were walking quickly towards us. "Troye run!" Tyler whispered, pushing me behind him.
"And leave you? You're insane if you think that will happen!"
He looked at me, clearly annoyed. "One of us has to get out of here to get help!"
"Yeah, and that can be you. You've already sacrificed too much for me." My voice was sharp. The men were getting closer. So close that unless we whispered, could hear our conversation perfectly. "Who do you think they are?" I asked.
"I don't know and I don't care." He pulled the car keys out of his pocket, grabbed my wrist, and slammed them into the palm of my hand. "Go!"
"Ty, I can't drive here!"
"I don't care just go! Please. For me." His eyes pleaded me to leave. What was I supposed to do? I turned to leave, but before I could, was pulled into his arms. He leaned up and kissed me, the kiss urgent and desperate. "I love you!" he managed before pushing me away and towards the car. I stumbled, but managed not to fall.
I wanted to stay with him. You didn't just kiss someone like that and then leave them, but I knew he would hate me unless I left. So, I ran towards the car, too afraid to look back.
"Hey! Get him!" I heard one of the guards yell. Quicker. Quicker. Quicker. I had to move quicker, unlocking the car door and flinging myself into the drivers seat. I turned the car on and floored it, dust flying in every direction as I pulled out of the vacant lot. I didn't look back. Instead, I drove, not aware that tears were falling from my eyes until I was halfway back to Tyler's apartment. No. I couldn't go back there. Just the thought of being there alone caused a hole to open up in my heart, and quite frankly, it would increase my chances of them finding me.
There was only one place left to go. Korey's. Yeah, Tyler and him were neighbors, but nobody would expect me to go there. I drove all the way there, only pausing to wipe the moisture that coated every feature on my face. Within a half hour, I was knocking on Korey's door, my whole body numb.
"Troye?" he gasped when he opened the door. He quickly allowed me inside his apartment, ushering me over to the couch. "What the hell happened to you? And where's Tyler?"
I must have been shaking. "Gone. They found us and... And... Tyler made me leave. They have him."
"Who? Jack? I thought he was in jail."
I shook my head frantically. "Yeah, but not everyone he worked with is. We need to call the police now."
Korey nodded his head in agreement, and opened the door when the police arrived twenty minutes later. "So what you're telling me is that they took Tyler in a black car?" the same officer from just the day before was asking me.
I told him yes. I told him everything that had happened, excluding the kiss and discussion of our relationship of course. He asked me question after question about what had happened, and I answered to the best of my ability.
"Okay. We've put out a search warrant for him," he finally said, as he pulled on his jacket.
"Please tell me you'll find him," I whispered.
"We're going to try our best." The smile on his face was genuine, but it wasn't good enough. Trying their best wasn't good enough. I needed Tyler back and I needed him back now.
"Thank you, officer," I managed before closing the door behind him.
"Troye I know how upset you are. It's okay. They're going to find him," Korey assured me.
"How can you be so sure?" I asked him.
"I just know." Suddenly, Korey's land line began to ring. "Do you mind?" I waved my hand at him submissively, and he got up and picked it up. "Hello?"
There was a crackling on the line, words I couldn't make out. Korey's mouth fell wide open, though.
"Who is it?" I demanded, my eyebrows knitted together in worry.
"Tyler."
I didn't believe it. "What did he say?" I asked.
"He said to run."
