Tyler's POV:
We walked out the front door, me sprinting ahead to open the car door for Troye. "Why thank you," he said mockingly, a goofy smile on his lips, as he slipped into the passenger seat. I ran around and took the seat next to him. I started the car and began driving.
"So are we thinking drive through or sit down?" I asked after a few minutes of driving silently. The McDonalds was about fifteen minutes away from my apartment.
He weighed both options before saying "drive through." I had to admit, I was surprised. I shot him a questioning glance. "It's just because I don't want to risk running into any viewers!" he exclaimed. I knew he was lying, but his lie also made sense. Nobody really knew what was going on right now. Shit. They didn't.
"Troye I completely forgot to edit that video!" I exclaimed suddenly.
"It's okay. We'll just go get drive through and go back to your house and edit." There was a twinge of disappointment in his voice.
"Troye... If you have something to say, say it!"
He smiled at me. "It's nothing, Tilly. I just thought we... Nevermind."
We arrived at the McDonalds, but I didn't pull into the drive through line. Instead, I pulled into a parking space. "Tell me you little shit!" I exclaimed, gently hitting him on the arm and laughing.
"Well I thought we could have gone to a park or something and have like a mini picnic. It's no big deal, though. You do have to edit that video! Now get into the drive through line before others do!"
I didn't budge, though. "Troye that sounds great!" I exclaimed. "Let's do that."
He blushed crimson as I started the car and pulled into the drive through line. We ordered, paid, and got our food in a matter of 15 minutes. "Ready?" I asked when we were finally alone again. He smiled and nodded eagerly. I sifted through different parks in my mind, finally settling on a not very well known one right outside of LA. It would be nice getting out of the city for a little while, after all. After driving for twenty minutes, Troye started complaining that the food was getting cold. "I know, I know!" I snapped at him, a smile still on my face. "We're almost there I promise!"
When we finally got there, his face was priceless. "I never knew this existed!" he gasped. It was a beautiful park with waterfalls and several picnic tables. We chose one closest to the waterfalls and took a seat. All of the other tables were vacant. Troye eagerly grabbed his food out of the bag, unwrapped it, and began eating. After watching him, I did the same. Suddenly, I felt something brush against my shin. It was his foot.
"Eager, aren't we?" I joked.
I knew he had only put his foot there accidentally, but he pulled it away quickly. "S- sorry," he muttered.
I rolled my eyes. "Are you serious? You honestly think that I'm offended or something?" I asked with a laugh.
He finally smiled, his shoulders relaxing. "Well you never know with you. You're kinda hard to read sometimes."
"Rude!" I shrieked. "I like to think of myself as an open book, thank you very much!" I joked.
"Think again." The smile on his face was so genuine. I could stare at it forever. Secretly, I hoped that I would. There was a few moments of awkward silence before I began speaking again.
"So, we need to talk." His face fell. "No, no, no it's totally not what you think!" I exclaimed, a laugh working it's way up my throat. "What we need to talk about is what... This is."
He shrugged his shoulders. "I dunno," he said easily. Did this really not matter to him?
"Troye, I'm serious! I just... I need to know how you really feel about me. That's all."
"Ty, you definitely know how I feel about you." A memory of kissing him last night surfaced in my head.
"True," I whispered. "Okay, let me rephrase that. Do you... I mean are we... ?"
"Dating?" he asked with a smirk. I could tell he enjoyed seeing me all flustered like this. However, I wasn't enjoying it. I was usually the composed one trying to comfort Troye. "That's up to you," he finished.
Up to me? Didn't that mean he wanted to date me then? "Well, if we're dating then, I think this has been a pretty good first date." He nodded his head in agreement. The moment was short lived, though, when a large black car pulled up next to us and two men in familiar security uniforms jumped out of it.
