Your P.O.V.

I was at the house with all the guys, getting ready for a party. I was in charge of moving all breakable items upstairs and away from anyone who would break them.

Charlie Scene was setting up an ice tub and putting beer in it to keep it cold.

J-Dog was putting cans of soda and water bottles in another ice tub.

Funny Man was setting up a small table with dime bags of weed and some rolling papers.

Johnny 3 Tears was out getting more beer.

Lastly, Da Kurlzz and Danny were in the bathroom, trying to untangle Funny Man's hairbrush from Da Kurlzz's hair without cutting it.

"Ow! Fucking hell Danny!" Da Kurlzz yelled from the bathroom.

"I'm just trying to help you! Calm down!" Danny yelled back.

I walked into the bathroom, and I couldn't help but laugh. The hairbrush was embedded into Kurlzz's hair even worse than before, and Danny's hand was also stuck in the fray.

"Oh dear. Let me help. I'm great at this kind of thing." I grabbed the bottle of conditioner from the shower and poured some on Danny's hand, making it slick, and worked his hand out of the mop of curls. "Can you take over my job while I fix this?" I asked Danny as he rinsed off his hand.

"Yeah. No problem. Thanks for all your help (your name). Don't know what we would do without you," he replied and left the room.

I looked at the hairbrush, then at Da Kurlzz, then at the bottle of conditioner, then at the hairbrush again.

"I think I can get it out, but you're going to have to wash your hair after," I told Da Kurlzz.

"Whatever you need to do. Just don't cut it," he said, almost sounding grateful that I was on the job instead of Danny.

I worked conditioner into the hair that was holding the hairbrush in a death grip, then in the hair around it to prevent everything from tangling worse. Then I slowly pulled small chunks of curls off and through the brush. By the time I had finally finished untangling everything, I had used nearly half the bottle of the giant sized conditioner.

"Do you want me to condition it and brush it out so you can rinse it and let it dry so it looks nice?"

"That would be fantastic. Thank you (your name)."

"Anytime. I just don't know why Danny thought he could untangle it."

"Can you close the door for a second?"

"Uh sure. Why?" I asked while closing the door.

"I have to tell you something about Danny."

"What is it?" I said and poured a liberal amount of conditioner in his hair, then began gently untangling with the newly freed brush.

A large crash sounded in the other room, but we both ignored it. That kind of stuff was totally normal for us.

"He likes you. A lot. When you're not around, he talks about you all the time. Even when he was trying to help me, he was going on and on about how beautiful and nice you are."

I turned dark red and stopped brushing for a moment. "You're kidding."

"I'm really, really not."

I began brushing again.

"He also said that he was going to ask you out tonight."

I took a deep breath. "Why didn't anyone tell me about this?"

"Snitches get stitches. It's the way of the streets. Are you going to say yes to him?"

"I... I don't know.... Maybe.... I mean....." I said, stumbling over my words like an idiot.

"If you say no, just let him down gently, that's all I ask. One friend to another," Da Kurlzz said.

"I'll be sure to keep that in mind." I hand Da Kurlzz the brush, having brushed out all his hair. "I'll leave you to rinse out your hair. When you rinse it, just let the water run down it and take a wash cloth and go over small chunks at a time. If you don't, it will feel greasy. Don't use shampoo, that will tangle it again because it strips your hair of the oils keeping your hair from knotting."

"Thanks for all your help. I'll buy you a new bottle of conditioner, just text me which kind you use or something."

"Will do," I said and exited the room, closing the door behind me.

I went back to where the boys were working and notice that Charlie and Funny Man were cleaning up broken beer bottles and ice, and J-Dog and Johnny were missing.

"Where'd J and Johnny go?" I asked Danny, who was holding the garbage bag open for the other two guys, so they can get rid of the paper towels quickly.

"They left to get more beer and ice. And some paper towels," Danny said.

I ripped off a few towels and bent down to help, but Danny stopped me. "Don't cut yourself up. You can set up garbage bags around the house. Let them clean up their own mess."

"How'd this happen?" I asked him.

"Funny and Charlie were being... Well.... Funny and Charlie. I don't know because I was putting the glass coffee table upstairs in the guest room when it happened."

I nodded and grabbed the box of garbage bags, hooking them to random places throughout the downstairs rooms.

I purposefully bent down with my butt in the air to see if what Da Kurlzz said to me was true, and sure enough, I saw Danny looking. When I turned to look at him, he quickly looked away, blushing darkly.

After everything was done, I just went upstairs to my room and took a nap so I could stay up all night to party.

. . . . .

"Hey sleepyhead, wake up."

I rolled over, ignoring who ever that was and fading back into sleep.

"C'mon, don't be like that, beautiful."

I pulled the covers over my head, an annoyed growl escaping me.

Then the bed shifted and an arm wrapped around my waist, my back was pressed up against a chest. Whoever was trying to wake me was now cuddling with me. I was not awake enough to care.

"Don't be like that, beautiful." He nuzzled my neck and kissed my cheek.

I finally got annoyed enough that I rolled over to see who it was.

J-Dog ended up nose to nose with me.

"Now you're awake," he said and laughed.

"Why'd you call me beautiful?" I half growled.

"Because you're beautiful when you sleep. And when you're awake. Anyway..." he trailed off, almost looking nervous. "The party starts in half an hour. Thought I'd give you time to get ready."

I finally cracked a smile. "Thanks J. Sorry about growling at you," I said while getting up.

He sat next to me on the edge of the bed. "It's okay. I still love you," he said and kissed my cheek. "You should wear something extra sexy tonight," he said and left before I could register what exactly all the words he said meant.
