Gabriel's P. O. V
After waiting a few seconds for her to open the door I ring the door bell again, but I hear no movement in the house at all. I start banging on the door as panic consumes me
"Dude calm down your going to attract people and then they'll call the police" he says grabbing my shoulder.
I turn from him and run to the backyard to see if she ran from the back.
"Alpha " says Damien bowing his head
"Did she come out from the back?" I ask
"No" he says frowning
"Why?"
"She didn't answer the door so I was just wondering" I state
"Are u sure she's here?" he questions
"Of course she's here" I growled.
"Ok dude calm down" says Ryan
"Let's just let ourselves in since it seems like no ones home k?"
"Ok" I say.
Running to the back door we pick the lock and slowly walk inside
"Hmm.. Not bad of a house, looks nice" states Ryan
"Just start looking for her" I order
"Yes alpha" they all respond and go in different directions.
We all meet up at the kitchen after looking for her on the first floor and we head upstairs. I head into a room with light green walls, then the smell hits me like a hammer over my head. It's so strong that I run back out of the room coughing
"You ok man " Ryan runs over to me
"Yeah but this rooms scent really hurts it's like someone decided to spray too much air freshener" I cough again
"Ha your just being dramatic, I mean what kind of person sprays too much air freshener that it hurts their nose" he said walking into the room and less then 5 seconds he comes running out coughing like I was
"Sh*t man that really hurts"
"Hahaha I told you dude, see what happens when you don't listen to me" I rub it in his in face
"Ok fine then ladies first " he dramatically moves aside and points his arms to the door for me to enter.
"Fine " I mumble
"Just warn the others about this room before they enter ok?" I say
" ok".
Entering the room with my nose covered by my shirt I see that the room is plane and almost looks like no one even lived here. I hear foot steps behind me and I turn around to see Ryan, Damien, Hunter, and Zach behind me covering their noses as well
"It smells like everything got cleaned here like there's no trace of a scent and this perfume is really making my nose hurt " wines Hunter
"Where could she be?!" I yell starting to get angry
"Dude calm down we'll find her, everyone check the restrooms the closest and every place you can think of" Ryan orders
"Yes beta" they answer.
Everyone starts looking every were "Hey guys there's a door back here" yells Zach.
We all start to crowd into the closet and see a small door which I doubt any one of us can fit in, it has two places where a lock should be but it's empty. Then I hear a small but loud click
"Did you guys hear that" asks Hunter
"Yeah I heard it too, this door probably leads to the attic and we haven't checked there so she's probably up there" confirms Ryan
"Well open the door dammit" I yell at them
"Ok man, chill" Ryan tries to calm me.
Zach starts trying to break down the door
"Man this is a hard door to open" he complains
"It's probably locked from the inside, let me help you" offers Hunter.
It takes about a minute to break down the door and when we do we see a small room with a bed, tv and everything someone would need to live in a small area for a while. I roughly push Zach and Hunter aside as I try to fit in the door, but only my head makes it through, I take a long sniff at the air and smell her scent in the room but I don't see her, I quickly see a door on the floor.
"She escaped to the back, come guys hurry!" I yell rushing out of the room and to the backyard with them at my heels.
I track her scent deep into the forest like a good 3 miles or so
' she must be a good runner to get ahead of us that fast' says Kane
' yeah but if we don't catch up to her we'll lose her ' I growl to him and he growls back at the idea of not catching our mate.
Hearing a loud groaning sound I run faster until her scent stops near a tree
"Hey did you guys hear that?" Ryan asks looking around
"Yeah it was like groaning" answers Hunter
"Do you think it was my mate" I ask worried
"Nah i don't think she groans like that" Zach chuckles
"But I smell her she's really close" and he was right I could smell her too I just didn't know where she could be. Then out of the blue the wind starts to shift directions carry her scent away from me
"Damn I can't smell her anymore, why did the wind move?" I ask getting mad that fate was being cruel, then I hear a chuckle
"She's here I heard her chuckle" confirms Ryan I slowly start looking around and then I look above us and see the oak tree leaves covering so well I couldn't see through.
I slowly crouch down and spring up ripping through the leaves and branches and the moment I do a loud piercing scream rings through the air. I fall to my knees and cover my ears while closing my eyes the screaming stops and I hear a thud next to me. Quickly opening my eyes I see my mate lying on the floor with blood pooling behind her head where she hit it, I crawl to her and start yelling at everyone to get help
"Ryan we have to help her" I say frantically
"Grab her and let's hurry to take her to the pack doctor " he orders.
I pick her up and start walking when her vine plant falls from her grasp and the vase breaks apart I see her weak hand trying to reach out to it, but I don't stop walking. I sneak a glance back and I swear I saw the vine reaching for her until it falls down to the ground defeated and she goes completely still. Running to the car I go in the back and yell at Ryan to step on it. Racing through the highway we make it to the pack house in about 30 mins. I start yelling for the pack doctor and run her to the clinic. People rush around and I hand her over to Eric the pack doctor and wait.
