Chap.16 Rescue

Elizabeth's P.O.V

The silence thickens throughout the room as I wait very patiently for my promised food and drink. Playing with my hands I ponder over how well I've taken all this information. All in a long stride, one in which I'm afraid that by the time my foot touches the ground I'll break. Sighing to myself I think, I hate all of this the secrets, lies, and games that I've seemed to get trapped into. What right does Gabriel have to take me from my home! What right does my so called brother, Thanatos, have to also take me! I'm not a damn toy you can toss around and play with as you please.

Who the hell do they think they are to throw me in something that I don't want to get involved in. I am so going to kick both of their asses for everything that has happened, but I falter on my thought. My fists unclenching from the ball of fury I had in mind, my face goes from rage to sudden fear and worry. Yeah I can kick Thanatos ass and he'll kill mine, I thought softly to myself. Well damn that just ruins everything I planned to do to him.

The door unlocks itself and in walks my brother with a plate of fruits and lasagna, oh my favorite! All in a tray in one hand while the other one is occupied with a bowl of water. He walks in and shuts the door with his foot. Walks over to me and sets down the tray of food next to me on the bed, then hands me the bowl of water without a word. He then goes over to the couch and sits there crossing his legs over in the way all men do.

"Aren't you going to eat?" He questions

"Yes, but I don't like being watched when I do" I reply a little bit coldly, the thoughts from before not leaving my mind

"Yes well that's something you'll have to deal with now" he shoots back

I hesitate a little before the acid in my stomach convinces me that I really need food in my system and put down the bowl of water and then grab the tray of food. I grab the fork on the side blindly and stab the delicious looking lasagna then I shove it into my mouth barely containing a moan. I hear a light chuckle, but I ignore it and continue to eat everything on the tray.

When I finish I fall back into the bed with a loud content sigh. The amazing flavor of the food fills my being and I feel like I'm in heaven after so many days without food. Then without warning a screech sounds throughout the empty-ish castle. I cover my ears in my panic and just as soon as it started it stops. Slowly uncovering my ears I look around still trying to process what that was when I see and hear the clatter of metal clashing together. I push myself off the bed into a sitting position to see Thanatos walking towards the door in a flurry closing the door with a loud thump not even locking it before I could ask him what is going on or what the fudge that was.

Standing up I pick up the bowl of water with me and wonder to the door, my hand hesitating for just a second around the knob before I open the door slowly. Sticking my head out I look both ways only to be greeted with the same silence except with a more creepy feeling. I take a deep breath before I take one step out into the hallway. My bare foot feeling the coldness of the marble floor. Closing the door behind me I walk quickly but quietly down the hall I went last time. The bowl of water sloshing together with every step I take. When I hear a little of patter of feet coming towards me.

Panicking I try to open the closest door only to find it locked, the steps sound closer now. I jog a little further up the hallway to see if there is another way I can go, only to find no such thing. The steps round the corner and what I see is not what I expected. A beautiful  girl with a pale face and black eyes looks at me and recognition flashes across her face like I'm what she was looking for. Her small body is maybe about 5 feet no less and her hair which is also black is in a bun/pony tail kind of hair due with branches streaming in and out. The leaf like dress clinging to her curves, her small cute nose and her red glossy lips pop out a swell as her green eye shadow. I don't know what to do, I stand shocked in front of her because she looks alive rather then dead and rotting like I saw with that zombie named Sonia.

"Princess, we must go now. I could only distract the Prince for so long before he figures out what I came for." The mysterious girl says her voice like little twinkling bells, but when she speaks she snaps me out of the trance I was in.

"Who are you?" I ask almost sounding like I couldn't breath

"Who I am doesn't matter all will be explained when we leave and go to the safety of Demeter's realm." She says grabbing my arm and dragging me the way I came from.

I follow the twist and turns she takes me through not knowing how she's navigating through all of this chaos. Until we stop in front of a tall and black deadly looking door.

"What is this?" I ask with awe

"The exit" she says simply reaching out to push it open.

But a sound gets my attention, the sound of metal colliding. I turn around my hair wiping my face in the process only to see a very scary looking and angry Thanatos. Charging at us with great speed. Without thinking, on instinct, I steady myself in between the hallway and throw the bowl of water, glass bowl and all, which I have managed to hold on to this whole time despite the strange girls demands. It was like watching a scene in slow motion, the glass and water shattered into a million pieces before my eyes and I watch as they go in different directions combining together.

I hear the yelling of the girl for me to move and asking me what the hell I was doing. I see Thanatos as confusion crosses his face, but he never wavers or slows down. And last but not least I watch as the bowl of water and glass forms into something, a soldier almost as big as the girl I just met. Holding a sword and wearing armor and just like that everything is fast paced again. The girl just drags me backwards and the last thing I see before that door closes. Is Thanatos and my creation clashing swords.
