a week had passed since me and wes had our first date, and i was exuberant. my parents had gotten back from my sisters move in day and we all were back to normal. sort of. the twins hadn't really talked to me much, well grayson has but ethan has been silent. i called a couple times but gave up when he didn't answer. i decided to call grayson over and talk with him about it.

"hey syd." he said walking through the door. i sat up from my spot in the couch and went up to him.

"let's go upstairs, i don't want my parents to hear us and get concerned." he nodded in response. he followed me up the stairs and to my bedroom. he sat on my armchair next to my window as i sat on my bed.

"sooooo whats up?" he asked me. i looked at my fingers and sighed.

"ethan's mad at me." i said quietly. grayson was silent till i heard a small chuckle. "what? why are you laughing?"

"well, i mean you think ethan's mad at you but he's not. he could never be. neither of us could." he said.

"what do you mean?" i asked crossing my legs. his face changed from a slight smile to a almost shocked look.

"uh well- i mean-." he stuttered.

"gray spit it out." i said.

"i cant really explain why but, we've all been good ass friends since we were embryos so i don't think we'd ever really be mad at each other." he shrugged. "arguments, sure but never mad." he gave me a reassuring look.

"yeah, i guess." i sighed. "he's just been so off, like since sophomore year. and it's gotten worse since the party."

"him and amber are dating, obviously, so you understand the stuff she brings." he pointed out.

"yeah but why doesn't he just break up with her if he hates her." i asked.

"he doesn't hate her, there's things she does that he tolerates, but he loves her." he stood up from his seat and walked over to me. i stood up with him, unsure what was going on. "c'mere." he whispered and hugged me. his hugs could make anyone feel better. "let's go to my house and we can all hang out, like the old times." i nodded and we left my room.

"mom, i'm gonna go hang with gray and eth, be back later!" i shouted as i grabbed my bag and keys.

"okay text me!" she responded and i shut the door. we walked across the street to his house and walked through the door. the cool air hit my face and refreshed me from the summer heat.

"i'll go grab ethan and we can figure out what to do." i nodded and sat at the bar and waited on my phone. a little while later i heard footsteps coming downstairs and a couple seconds later the twins appeared. i looked up and saw them in their bathing suits.

"what the-" was all i could choke out when they picked me up from the bar stool and carried me outside against my will. i knew good and well their intentions and i wasn't too happy. i was wiggling so much and screaming while they were laughing. ethan held my upper body and grayson held my feet. as they approached the pool i begged and pleaded to not be thrown in.

"I'LL GRAB MY SWIMSUIT JUST DON'T THROW ME IN! PLEASE!" i shouted while laughing. all i got back was loud laughs and then they threw me in. the water surrounded me and soaked my shorts and tee and i sunk to the bottom. my ponytail was soaked thin and i was drenched. i came up for air, trying my hardest not to laugh and glared at them. i saw grayson on the pool chair gasping for air and then looked at ethan who had his hands in his knees while laughing. he looked at me and walked over to the edge of the pool and stuck out a hand for me. i smirked, knowing how to pay him back. i grabbed his hand and started to climb up the pool and then, i pulled my hand down and he fell right behind me. grayson was on the ground choking and i was giggling as i held onto the side. when ethan came up his eyes immediately found me and he dragged me to the middle of the pool and pushed me under the water and sat on my shoulders. i stood up and was struggling to breathe, mostly because of the laughing but because i was in the deep end and i'm not too tall.  ethan got off me and we swam to the side of the pool by grayson.
