A/N: The end of this chapter made me cry while writing it???
I was almost done getting ready when Marcus got home. I was curling the ends of my hair when he walked into my room and sat on the bed playing with his phone.
'How was training?' I asked and he sat up.
'Pretty good.' He said. He looked exhausted and I know they worked him out. I was wearing a white knitted tank top, a black pencil skirt up to mid thigh, a cropped leather jacket, and black booties. I smiled at my appearance and Marcus said I looked great. I was ready about twenty minutes before Dele was supposed to come so I checked my grades. I was scrolling when the doorbell rang. Marcus went to get it and I heard Jesse's laugh from the door. I looked over my shoulder and he looked as happy as can be so i'm guessing everything did work out. I smiled to myself and continued trying to find my grades.
'Hey!' Jesse smiled and he looked at my outfit.
'Hey!' I smiled and he whistled.
'You look so good what's the occasion?' He said making my cheeks turn bright red. Marcus smacked the back of his head and I laughed.
'I have a date.' I smiled and he looked shocked.
'Oh with who?' He questioned leaning on the counter staring at me. I felt sweaty and weird when he stared that way. I hated it because every time he did that I always felt this way.
'Dele Alli.' I said and he tensed up. He looked at Marcus confused and Marcus just ignored it and smiled.
'What, why?' He asked and I was going to answer but the bell rang. I grabbed my stuff because I didn't want confrontation and said goodbye. Too bad I left my phone and Jesse came running behind me to give it.
'You look beautiful love.' Dele smiled and I smiled widely.
'You left your phone, love.' Jesse smiled at me putting emphasis on the nickname love. I glared at him and he just smiled goofily.
'Oh hey Jess!' Dele smiled doing a handshake with Jesse and I smiled at them.
'Well we better get going.' Dele smiled at me and Jesse just smiled at me, a mischievous smile. I rolled my eyes at him.
'Goodbye Jess.' I said turning around and following Dele to his car. Once we were in the car we drove and spoke about random things and we had a good drive. We ate dinner at a cute restaurant and walked through the city. Some people recognized Dele but nothing crazy happened thank god.
'So are you done with school?' He asked as we walked down a side street.
'For this semester yes but I have another year of school left .' I said and he nodded.
'What do you want to be?' He questioned.
'Sports journalist.' I stated and he smiled.
'I better be your first interview then.' He winked and I nudged him.
'Yeah if I ever make it.' I said and he looked taken a back.
'Of course you'll make it, from what Marcus says you're a determined woman.' I smiled at that. Once we finally made it to the car we got in and drove. It was already almost eleven and I was so tired but I didn't want the night to end. Dele put his hand on my leg and another on the steering wheel and I felt the goosebumps rise on my body.
'Your hands are cold.' I said and he removed his hand.
'Sorry.' He said and I laughed. I took his hand and held it instead and he smiled. It felt right to be with Dele, I mean I knew his past wasn't so great but he was a genuine person and he might not be Jesse but he's still good. Once we got to the apartment he walked me to the door.
'I had an amazing time, thank you for tonight.' I smiled and he smiled back grabbing my hands and holding them.
'It was a pleasure spending time with you.' He said and swiftly leant in and pecked my lips. It was short and sweet but good enough to trigger my goosebumps again. I smiled and we said goodbye. Marcus was asleep on the couch and Jesse was wide awake when I walked in.
'You're finally back.' Jesse whispered getting up and helping me hang up my jacket. He was being so weird, wasn't it me upset that he was with someone just a minute ago?
'Yeah.' I said taking off my shoes and carrying them to my room. He followed me and sat on the bed. I placed my purse down and started tying up my hair when he started interrogating me.
'How'd it go?' He asked.
'Great.' I smiled turning to face him.
'What'd you eat?'
'Chicken and fries.'
'Did he pay?'
'Yes.'
'Did he make you laugh?'
'Yes, now can I please change into my pajamas?' I groaned at his annoying questions.
'Oh yeah.' He got up but before he walked out he turned around.
'I'm a better kisser right?' He said and I froze. My heart was beating so fast and I wanted to just go to bed and be rid of Jesse.
'What?' I asked, thinking I heard wrong.
'He walked you to the door, you were red when you came in. I know you kissed but who's a better kisser?' He asked a few feet in front of me waiting for a response and I couldn't believe he was actually asking me this question.
'I'm not telling you.' I huffed trying to push him out of my room but he held my hands and he wasn't letting go.
'I'm not leaving until you tell me!' He smiled and I rolled my eyes.
'Why do you care?' I asked and he smirked.
'I just don't want you to forget who could do you better.' He winked and walked out and I almost passed out. He was the one who got a girlfriend. I didn't move on first so why was he so stuck on this idea of us. He literally has a girlfriend, why won't he just get out of my head?
