ShadAmy Chapter 6- Getting things Straight

"Well, It didn't take a spy to figure it out Shadow." Espio chuckled cleaning a glass behind the counter.

"Alright, I get it." Shadow growled folding his arms on the counter top.

"So, what did you get caught up in?" He asked squinting one eye shut and looking threw the glass at Shadow with the other.

"Well, I'm two timing with out meaning to." Shadow sighed.

"Really? Well that's interesting. Explain." Espio put the glass up and brought out his time card, clocking out.

"Well as I told you, Rouge likes me. But Amy and I are going out."

"Oh, I see. And do you like Rouge too?"

"Well, kinda. And I feel so cornered! I'm scared of even trying to have them at the same time. I tried to reason it out but I just made it worse in my head I feel like the only way to fix this is to just, just RUN." he admitted his ears went down in over whelmed confusion.

"Okay," Espio hopped over the counter taking a seat next to Shadow, "who do you love more?"

"I can't choose! That feels so wrong."

"Ah. So there is your problem."

"Well, Rouge and I have been friends for a long time. Around the time when I had been awaken again, till now she's always managed to be here for me. We have so much together. I don't know how to tell her-"

Espio held up a hand stopping Shadow. "It's hard to tell her you would like to stay in a friends only zone because?"

"B-because, I think I have a bit of a love feeling for her too."

"So, you and Rouge have this pretty built foundation of a relation ship. What do you and Amy have? What about her captured your attention so much that you couldn't notice Rouge's feeling for you?"

"Well, we don't have nearly as much as me and Rouge has. But her personality, her determined attitude, her kindness, there's just so much about her that is so distracting." Shadow thought.

"So if you didn't have Amy, and Rouge confessed would you just go along with it?" Espio asked tracing the tip oh his horn.

"Uh... m-maybe." Shadow shrugged.

"But you know she has Knuckles."

"Yes, but-"

"Eh Knuckles can be a little hot headed sometimes. He loves her, he just doesn't realize until it's gone or being taken from him." he said.

"Okay so what do I do, make it obvious to Knuckles I'm dating Rouge and start a fight?"

"Hehe, that would be fun to see." Espio laughed.

"Well!?"

"No. I'm not saying to do that. But Knuckles needs to know how she feels so he can correct his behavior. I could give him a hint, and you talk to Rouge about telling him."

"Okay...."

"But honestly Shadow, even if that doesn't work you should know there is Love, and Lust. No one can tell the difference until it's too late." Espio hopped off his chair, "What you need to do is stand your ground in this confusion. Running away from it will leave you with nothing. And the key to winning is following your heart."

Shadow looked at him raising a brow.

"I know it sounds corny." Espio smiled, "But it wont, once you figure it out. Good luck Shadow." He nodded gripping Shadow's shoulder then went on his way out the door.

'Okay, he's right. If I run away from this I loose Amy and Rouge. Lust... so maybe I don't love both of them-' Shadow's thoughts was interrupted by Vector coming out of his office.

"Oh hey Shadow! Your still here? It's closing time. Did Espio clock out already?" The crocodile looked around.

"Ah, yeah he just left." He answered.

"Oh, can I get you anything before I close up?"

"No thanks. I'm on my way out." Shadow slid off his seat.

"Okay, thanks for stopping by!" Vector waved as Shadow walked out.

'So... who am I lusting?' He thought walking in the dark forest towards the sun set.

Movie and Pizza tomorrow. He remembered Amy's excited squeal.

"I should get back home and try and get some sleep so I can be awake during that date." He said to himself chaos controlling back up to ARK.
