ShadAmy Chapter 20- And They Lived Happily Ever After

Sonic's p.o.v
A week had passed since Tails, Knuckles, and I fixed Rouge's house. I don't think Rouge was able to forgive Knuckles so easily, and he had slept on the couch last I heard. Good thing we got a comfortable one. Espio has been watching the Master Emerald for Knuckles while he tried to apologize and make it up to her. Amy has been out of sight too, but I've heard she was having troubles with Shadow. After a week of no one getting anywhere I had to help them out. It was time for yet again another get together down at Sega's HQ!

Shadow's p.o.v
Call from: Sonic the Hedgehog. Ark announced. With a tired groan I glanced at the clock 12 in the afternoon. It was another sleepless night but I had dozed off in the dining room at a table. I ignored his call and tried to go back to sleep. But he called again, and again.
"Hey Shadow, I know your there buddy pick up the phone." He left a message.
"Shadow, is everything okay? I'm kinda worried about you man. No grudge against the nose by the way, it's all good." He left another. By the third message warning me he wouldn't stop calling until I picked up I had to give in.
"What do you want faker?!" I answered.
"Oh gosh there you are! For a second I thought you were dead or something!"
"As if I could get that lucky." I growled.
"Alright, since you're still alive, You're invited to my party!!" He cheered.
"Party? You're birthday already past what's this one for?"
"Because I want to! Now are you coming or not??"
"I'd rather no-"
"GREAT! I'll see you at 9 'o' clock to night!"
"H-hey! I said-"
"I better see you there Shadow. Bye."
He hung up and so did I grumbling not wanting to leave the Ark any time soon. Not until I heard from Amy. Maybe I should call her myself, but I never could find myself to pick up the phone and face what I might hear. Since I was probably going to be up all night I should get all the sleep I could now. I walked into a random bed room and crawled in bed closing my burning and blood shot eyes.

--9pm—

Amy's p.o.v
Sega HQ Was yet again decorated like it was a holiday, bright lights and colors strung up from corner to corner. I had come in a pink dress longer than my red one I usually wear. Sonic didn't say what theme the party was, he just said to be there at 9. So there I was walking up the steps at 9pm. The night was a little cold and I was glad he decided to have this party when I was off that time of the month. It would have been embarrassing if I couldn't and to explain the reason and I'd feel really left out.
"Hi Amy!" Tails greeted me at the door. I smiled and nodded walking in where my eyes automatically caught sight of Sonic. His blue was just electrifying, and his green eyes held every ones attention. Butterflies fluttered as my feet made me hurry to his side, our arms touched.
"Oh, hey Amy." He turned to me with a smile. For the first time there wasn't irritation in his voice.
"Hi Sonic." I smiled but was so shy.
"Just making a few adjustments before everyone gets here. Enjoy the snack table, we got chili dogs!" he said looking in the direction of the snack table.
"Would you like me to bring you one?" I asked and looked over at the table piled with food.
"That would be great. Thanks Amy." He nodded and went back to work.
As I made my way to the table Vector and Espio was there talking to Knuckles.
"Hey, there's the princess." Espio chuckled as I made my way closer to the table.
"What?" I looked around and then at myself, "Me??"
"Yeah! You look nice." He smiled and winked.
"Oh, thank you." I smiled with a blush moving some quills out my face. I reached for a plate then found the Chili dogs, still hot with steam. Spicy chili covered each hot dog and the cheese melted on top and they were sprinkled with diced onions, just the way Sonic liked. After picking the best one from the bunch I turned to leave but ran into Rouge.
"Oh hey girl!" She said moving out the way of the plate.
"Oh! Sorry… hi." I said making sure I didn't drop the dog.
"Ever got back to Shadow?" She asked.
"No. I was waiting until I was off 'that time' and give him a call because I needed to see him." I said.
"Well, he hasn't been to work and my back up team is crap. I'm dead without him." She sighed.
"Why hasn't he been there?" I asked.
"He hadn't got any sleep and couldn't keep focused." She said then walked over to Knuckles, hugging him from behind. I watched for a moment and then remembered I was supposed to give Sonic his chili dog.
"Thanks! Wow this look so good!" he took the plate and admired the food.
"Sorry it took so long I-"
"It's okay I understand, not everyone is as fast as me." He shrugged with a smile then took a bite.
"Right…" He was so conceded.
"Hey everyone! It's time to get this party started!" Eggman's voice came on the mic. Everyone froze and some took fighting stances looking in his direction.
"Sonic! It's Eggman!" I cried tugging at his arm and pointing, "He's here to crash the party!!" I took out my hammer ready to swing, "Don't worry I got this!"
"Amy!" Sonic yelled and grabbed both my arms stopping me, "Calm down! He isn't here to crash the party! He's the DJ!"
"What!?" me and a few others all gasped.
"Oohohohoho! You should have seen the look on your faces!" Eggman laughed, "But as good as that idea sounds, I'm afraid I'm not allowed. Sonic's boss would fire me… SO, shall we, how do you say, get jiggy with it?!" he put on some music and everyone started to relax and get on with their conversation. Sonic was still holding me as I gripped my hammer watching eggman, until I felt Sonic's eyes watching me.
"It's okay. Put the hammer down." He said with a smile and rubbed my arms softly. I looked into his eyes as I put my hammer down and relaxed. Why is it I still admire him when I truly long for Shadow?
"There we go. Phew, you had me worried for a second, thought I was going to have to chase after you." He let out a sigh of relief.
"Sorry." My ears went down and I bowed my head. I saw a hand extended to me as I looked up. Sonic held out his hand with a cool grin.
"May I have the first dance?" He asked. Why was he being so nice? Not complaining, but last time he wanted nothing to do with me. I took his hand and nodded. He pulled me onto the floor where we began to dance my eyes on him at all times, but he kept looking around. As if he was looking for someone. The first dance ended and we took a bow and others clapped. But the rest of the night I had been pretty much by myself. I had gone outside around 11, and brought out my cell phone. I dialed Shadow's number and held the phone to my ear.
A ringer sounded underneath the balcony where I had been standing. I leaned over the rail edge to finding Shadow on the first balcony under me holding out his phone looking at the caller ID.
"Shadow!?" I called finding myself a little too far over the edge and felt like I was going to fall forward, "Ahh!!"
I was pulled back, by someone and held close. I looked up to find Shadow holding me.
"You okay?" He asked.
"Oh yes. Thank you. I've been a bit clumsy lately. I've been meaning to talk to you but I wanted to wait till I could be face to face."
"I'm sorry." He said.
"For what? You didn't do anything." I said looking up at him, "Rouge told me everything and we've been friends for a long time. I had to work things out with her first. We fought, then talked it out and now we're fine. I was worried about you though. I heard you didn't sleep and you haven't been working. Are you alright?"
"Truthfully no. I thought I lost you forever. That's why I couldn't sleep. It's impossible to sleep with your heart broken and know that it's your entire fault. You're my world Amy, and without you… I can't live."
"But, Shadow you didn't lose me, I never wanted it to be over. And to tell the truth I probably would still have you if you had done something. I love you Shadow, forever and always!" I hugged him close and nuzzled in his neck.
"I can't hurt you Amy. In any way or form, if you left me life isn't worth anything to me." He said, "I love you too. Forever and always."
We stayed hugging and watched the stars in the sky as music played from inside the building. And as the clock stuck 12 we kissed under the starry night sky.

Espio's p.o.v
I sipped on some kool-aid weaving out of the crowd. Knuckles and Rouge was together again like nothing had ever happened. They danced and kissed and hugged. I had seen Amy slip out side. Maybe for some fresh air. Sounded like a good idea and I was feeling like I needed to do the same. After a munch on some apple slices I found Charmy and Tails arguing on who would have a dance with Cream next. Vector had danced with Cream's mother, he liked her. As the two kids fought leaving Cream alone and waiting to dance I decided I'd step in and take her on the floor myself. After my little dance with Cream and leaving both the little boys upset and apologizing I finally got to step outside where I was hoping to join Amy. It had already reached 12 midnight and the big clock started to chime along with whoops and hollers from others inside. When I stepped outside I caught Amy and Shadow locked in a kiss. I leaned against the door way watching with a smirk. As they ended their kissing I finally spoke.
"And the Princess and her Dark Prince was back together and lived happily ever after."
