ShadAmy Chapter 1- One Night

One Night

I was never this close to her before. Never had this much time. I watched from a far but, never got to speek my mind. It wasn't until a Sega Ball was hosted, the whole HQ was turned into a mid-evil time castle, with live ball music and everyone in their best royal attire.

There I watched my rival, the one I envy as he treats her like the poorest pauper in the nation, dance swiftly with each fair maiden he pleases. I see her from the other side of the room, watching him just as I. Melancholy and self doubt on her face. She looked beautiful, her quills in a loose bun at the top of her head and her dress looked like the work of a fairy godmother. She was sparkling with magic from head to toe. She wanted to get to him, closer and for this night to be like Cinderella's magic love story.

She was in for a different spell...

As the final dance was announced, Sonic stood on the floor waiting to steal best couple dance in finals spot light, I stepped out onto the dance floor. She gathered all courage she had and pushed away all doubt, and made her way on the floor as well. We had been partnered up, Silver with Blaze, Tails with Cream, Sonic with Amy, and I with Rouge. I kept my eyes fixed on the pink innocents as the dance began with a bow, and for the ladies a curtsey. Taking their hand in a gesture to dance. Sonic's annoyance on his face gave me rage, and his dance was sloppy, and wouldn't dare keep in tight step with her or keep close.

It was then I couldn't stand to be away from her much longer. Finally the dance called for a switch. Whispering in Rouge's ear my plan she nodded and as the switch came into play, I was able to swoop Amy away from him and carry on in fine tune with her body. She looked up at first surprised, our eyes met and we stayed lost in them. I wasn't sure if this was the magic she had in mind. A hint of disappointment showed on her muzzle when i wasn't her "prince". As the dance ended, we had stolen the spot light, her eyes gleamed with a wish come true, well almost a full wish...

"Can, I talk to you out side please?" She gripped my hand softly and led me out to the balcony. Shutting the doors behind us she looked at me, as if studying for the right way to start the conversation.

"Shadow..." She asked softly crossing her arms and looking away. I almost instantly wanted to say sorry. Feeling as if I ruined her moment in time.

"I feel you watch me. Is, there something you want to say?" She finally looked up at me.

"I do. I'm just not sure how to tell you." I confessed.

"You know you can tell me Shadow." She stepped closer.

With a deep sigh and a slight bow of my head I told her, just as how I talked to Rouge about it.

"I don't like the fact you love Sonic." I said, "In fact i hate it. I loath ever moment you spend chacing after that no good faker!"

She stood silent not knowing what to say.

"You, are so narrow minded, you see one thing and you never give anything else a chance. You make...me, feel like I'm not worth your time. Like I could never have a slightest chance at even, holding your hand." My voice started to rise. She looked up with shining emerald eyes and a hand softly over her muzzle.

"I don't know why you chase after something like that. Do you look forward to being pushed away everyday? To being denyed and treated like your some plague!?"

She shook her head and looked down, "N-no..."

"Neither do I..... And I feel you pain as you cry on the floor watching him run away, to be alone, and left behind..." I stepped closer, "And I'm not talking about my past... You do it to me, every day..."

"I'm sorry Shadow. I didn't reli-"

"And it aggravates me that you keep going back to his abuse. He takes you for granted, and this is my plea to open your eyes and know that you don't deserve what he does to you Amy! There's some one better..."

Her eyes swelled up in tears and she came to me in a hug.

"Your right Shadow. I didn't mean to!" She cried in my arms.

"I know. Which is why I'm not mad." I nodded hugging her tightly.

As she looked up, our noses touched stumping us both as we looked at our black velvet noses connecting and then into each others eyes, as if asking if either of us was comfortable with this. in the night I could see a light blush. I rubbed our noses together making her blush deeper. But both of us had a smile.

Getting up more nerve I leaned in, slowly kissing her softly. Her eyes widened as she blushed a hot red, but pulled me in closer kissing me back and let her eyes shut.

As she pulled away amazement yet confusion molded her features.

"Amy...? What's wrong?"

"No, it's just that, I wished to dance with my true love tonight. But I don't know which one it was... Sonic or you. I can't just suddenly stop loving the guy I've loved for years... but, you captured my heart as well Shadow. Now, I don't know who is who!" She said sounding like she was going to cry again.

"Please Amy... just let him go. Give me a chance." I begged.

She shook her head and stepped away, "I can't Shadow... I just can't...I love him." She turned away and reached for the door handle. I felt as if a dagger was jabbed into my chest, and stunted my breath as I froze, not knowing what to do or what to say, she was going to leave and take my heart with her.

"B-but Amy-"

"I love you too Shadow. Good night." She left as the clock struck 12. and disappeared back into the building, leaving me in the cold night.
