Matt's POV

The car ride felt different compared to anything I have ever felt. I had this feeling of guilt and suspicion, even though I really had nothing to be worried about. Leaving Josh alone gave me this feeling. It wasn't because I didn't trust him, he has been alone and not done anything stupid or upsetting. It felt like I had left the oven on while I was out. I drove back home with a slight worry, getting back to the apartment in less than ten minutes, taking the elevator up to our floor and opening the door to find it mostly quiet with the exception of the blinds moving near the window. Josh had been through so much since he got out of rehab and I didn't want him to fall back into old habits. I set breakfast on the coffee table and head upstairs to our room, where Josh was nowhere to be seen, but I could hear him crying from the bathroom. Heading towards the slightly ajar door and pushing it carefully open, seeing Josh against the wall with his legs laid flat against the ground and his right arm resting against his thigh, bleeding down slowly. I help him sit on the edge of the bathtub while I grab the cloth on the counter, wetting it gently before cleaning him up.

"I'm sorry Matty..." He mutters, flinching at the contact of the cold cloth.

"It's better than finding you dead." I kiss his lips gently and wrap his wrist in some bandage wrap before helping him up out of the bathroom and headed downstairs to set him on the couch. "You just need something to keep your mind off of it, why don't we do something together?" I ask, smiling at him and leaning against his shoulder gently as he looks down at me, smiling back.

"That sounds fun, what should we do though?" Josh beamed slightly. That was a good question, as I didn't really know what we could do. Thinking for a quick second before getting up and heading to the kitchen to grab some bridal and wedding books to look through that my mom gave to us after we moved out. Josh looked over and smiled a little, nodding slightly as we start to look at wedding ideas.

~hours later~

Josh's POV

Matt had fallen asleep on the couch as we went through the endless amount of wedding themes, tuxes, settings, photographs and more and more. It honestly never ended. I start putting the wedding stuff away when I notice a photo album in the kitchen. I grab it and browse through it, looking at the old photos of Matt and me from as old as when we were kids. I look at the note attached to it.

"Time after time...-Mama Webb"

Matt's mom must have snuck it when she came to help us move, maybe as an engagement present because I didn't ask for anyone to bring any, but of course, my mother-in-law had to give us something. I grab my jacket before heading out to the balcony, feeling my pockets for cigarettes but finding an envelope inside my jacket. It had it addressed "to daddy" on the front, which left me totally confused as to who did this for me. I opened it carefully to see a hand-written letter in it, along with a covered picture.

"Dear daddy, I can't wait to meet you when I get big enough to see you for the first time. I have heard many things about you, including on how I have another daddy, that is totally embarrassing to everyone but I know you will take care of him as you both care for me. Auntie Amanda said she has done some things that she isn't proud of, but she has allowed me to stay in her room for another 8 months. I'm excited to meet both of my daddies and get to know them, even if it means they stay up all night because I feel alone or scared. -X Ramsay"

I was nearly in tears at this point. Trembling violently, I opened the covered photo to see that picture of the only ultrasound we ever got to see of our child. The first, last, and only picture we had of them when they could have easily had fit in my hand. I look at the back of the photo which had the quote, "So every time you look at a twinkling star, just remember that's me smiling from afar"  Startling slightly as I felt arms slink around my waist, I look down at a sleepy Matt.

"I'm sorry Joshy, I didn't mean to..." Before he could say another word, I lifted him to a standing position and hug him as tight as I could without hurting him as my body was now shivering cold.

"Thank you, Matty...for everything..." I whisper to him, leading him inside and up to bed. I fixed our blanket as Matt got down to his boxers as I did the same in return, both of us getting under the sheets as Matt curled up next to me in my arms. Kissing his forehead gently, I shortly fell asleep.
