Friday, June 13th, 2003: Day 1

Matt's POV

I ran out the car to catch up with Josh. I had no idea what he wanted to do, but I bet it would be interesting, like all his ideas in the past. I hopped into the passenger's side in my car as Josh started up the car. Josh held my hand gently, putting his fingers in between mine. Josh drove downtown to a building I didn't really know about. Josh helped me out of the car like a gentleman, while all I could do was smile and roll my eyes. Josh held my hand and lead me inside the building, to see that it was a tattoo shop.

"I always wanted tattoos. I guess I can get a couple now." Josh looked at me with a smirk. I gave him a curious look.

"You sure about this? It will hurt a bit" I asked him. Josh nodded as one of the workers came to see us.

"Welcome. Any ideas of what your planning to get?" The man asked. Josh took a paper out of his pocket and opened up to show to the artist. All I could see were a bunch of lines that reminded me of a fence. Josh discussed with the man and took us to a work area. Josh took a seat in the chair as I sat next to him. The artist started getting everything ready and Josh held my hand firmly. Josh held his breath a bit.

"Josh, breathe. Deep breaths." I told him, laughing slightly. Josh breathed out slowly and relaxed a bit before the needle hit his skin. He screamed slightly, that turned into a laugh. Both the worker and I laughed a little as I watched Josh trying not to break down. I'm pretty sure he has on the inside already.

~half hour later~

Josh's POV

I kept my eyes closed shut as I got my tattoos. Matt said they were going to hurt a little, but he fucking lied. They hurt a lot! I wanted them to make Matt proud because the lines represented the years of heroin I did. And they were over.

"Alright. All done!" The worker announced. I pushed out all the breath I held in and opened my eyes. I looked at my forearms. There they were. My years of pain were over. I looked at Matt, as his face was turning normal from the slight red it had. He was laughing at me.

"Did you forget to breathe during that?" Matt asked, still holding my hand. I rolled my eyes, not wanting to admit that I almost passed out. He helped me up and we walked to the counter where Matt paid the worker. I walked outside to get some fresh air when I noticed someone on the street. My sister, Sara. Great... I put on my sunglasses and tried to hide my face as I walked to Matt's car across the street.

"Josh? Is that you?" She sounded excited as she ran towards me. Kill me now! She hugged me around my arms where my tattoos were, but I tried not to sound like I was in pain. Sara would tell my parents in a quick second that I had gotten tattoos if she found out.

"H-hey Sara. Could you please loosen your grip a little? It's only been a few days since you saw me." I tried to say as Sara literally almost crushed me to death. She let go and smiled at me.

"I know but, it has seemed like forever! So, what are you doing in this part of town?" She asked me.

"I could ask you the same question, Sara." I sassed her.

"Calm down Josh. I was actually taking a walk before heading to the studio to see dad. Wanna join?"

"Uhh, no thanks. I'm kinda busy with things." I turned around to see Matt coming out of the tattoo shop. Shit...

"Wait, Matt. You got a tattoo?! Let me see!" Sara jumped over to Matt. I shook my head at Matt, trying not to get him to tell her that I got the tattoos. Matt wasn't paying jack shit to me.

"Actually, Josh got two tattoos. Nearly died, holding his breath, trying to stop the pain." Matt told her, half laughing. Sara looked at me with wide eyes.

"You? Got tattoos? Josh, mom and dad won't approve of that." Sara became very serious.

"Two things; One, I am not living there ever again and two, I'm an adult now so I can make my own decisions." I raised my voice slightly.

"Mhm. And what if someone decided to, you know, tell mom and dad?" She is threatening me...

"I swear if you do..."

"Do what? Tell on me? We aren't 5, Josh."

"Well, I'm not 5 either. I can make my own decisions. And if that is moving out or getting a tattoo, then that is my choice, not yours or mom's, or dad's." I turned away and got into Matt's car as Matt talked to Sara for a few minutes. I put on my seatbelt as Matt got into the driver's seat.

"Sara wants us to come to Acadia's birthday tomorrow," Matt told me.

"As long as she treats me like a child, I'm not going" I crossed my arms and looked out my window.

"Josh, you are starting to act like a child, now you can go and be a man about it or you can stay home and pout about it like a kid. Pick your choice." I looked over at Matt. This was the first time he had told me to man up. I thought about it and looked out my window again.

"We will go to Acadia's birthday but, if any drama happends, I'm leaving," I explained to Matt.

"That's alright with me, Ramsassy." Matt smirked as he started to drive us home.
