Kyoya's POV

I woke to the sound of Tamaki's voice, my least favorite way to wake up, but it was the second voice I heard that got my attention. Rose. My eyes snapped open, my laptop nearly falling off of my lap as I jolt awake. She looks at me and laughs, but the laughs are cut off very suddenly by a coughing fit. I take her hand, holding it in my own. "Tamaki, get her some water," I tell the blond and he nods.

"Right! Yeah! I'll do that!!" He says and hurries out. She stops coughing and smiles at me.

"He is going to take half an hour to get that water, he's a little hopeless y'know," her tone is playful, but her voice sounds scratchy, like she has been coughing an awful lot.

"I know. Have you spoken to the doctor yet?" I ask her, I want to get straight to the point so we can move on from it. She nods and hums softly.

"Yeah, they aren't entirely sure what happened yet.. I have been taking my meds that's not the issue, I think they are testing my blood for stuff now, I didn't catch what, I wasn't really listening," Rose answers her eyes flicker around the room while she talks, she doesn't want to be talking about it, probably because she's already listed off her answers at least twice before.

"Really, I just want to get out of here and back to school, or at least be home, it really-" a short coughing fit interrupted her sentence, after she just leaned back on her pillows and looked tired. My heart broke to see her like this, I reached out and held her hand tight.

"I'm sure you'll be out of here very soon, you'll be back to yelling at the twins in no time," I promised her with a small smile, it made her laugh which looked like it hurt some.

"Speaking of the twins, where's the rest of the boys? I haven't seen them or even gotten a text and I usually can't get through the school day without either one of the twins, or Honey, blowing up my phone," she picked her phone off of the bed side table and unlocked it, scrolling through her messages.

"I don't know what happened to them, yesterday, before me and Tamaki came, in Mori, Honey, and the twins left to get you flowers and I suppose they never ca-"

"ROSE WE ARE HERE DON'T WORRY!" Hikaru said loudly, entering the room with Koaru right behind him.

"And we brought flowers and chocolate, wait can you have chocolate? If you can't eat it while you're in the hospital don't let Tamaki eat it it isn't for him," Kaoru says while smiling, setting five large boxes of various chocolates on the bed next to her. Hikaru sat on one side of her bed and Kaoru sat on the other side, near where I was standing. Rose smiled at the two and looked up at me.

"I think Hikaru and Kaoru are trying to beat you out for being my valentine, better watch yourself Kyoya," she said and I could here her smile in her voice before she started laughing at her own joke. I couldn't help it, I smiled a little.

"Hm, I think you're trying to get me to buy you even more chocolate on valentines day," I chuckle

"Oh I definitely am," she says, smiling and laughing again. She picks out a little chocolate from the box and pops it in her mouth, the laughing doesn't seem to hurt her as much this time. "and I am definitely allowed to have chocolate, I think... maybe don't tell my doctor.." She looks at the door suspiciously and eats another chocolate. What am I going to do with her?

Now where is-
"Rose-chan!! You're awake!" Honey comes in, eagerly pulling Mori's hand behind him. "We got you a stuffed bunny like mine! Well, not like mine, but they are both bunnies!!!" Mori hands her a sky blue stuffed rabbit toy, about the size of Usa-chan. "Look! they can be friends!" Honey says and makes the two bunnies hug. Rose smiles an the shorter boy and hugs her gift.

"Thank you Honey, I love it. I'll have to give her a name later!" She smiles and Honey laughs, taking a seat, Rose catches Mori's hand and tells him thank you as well and lets go.

"Get well soon," Mori replies and ruffles her hair, making Rose giggle, but hold her chest at the pressure of it.

"Where is Tamaki with that damn water?" The room laughs, but all I want to to have Rose alone again, I dont want this many people over crowding her.

A/N: this is not at all finished but it has been sitting in my drafts for like a year and maybe yall would like it???

also holy SHIT i have had a legit terrible year! wow! like i haven't processed a lot of it but like.. deep shit tbh

you can stop reading here if you want I'm just overshare real quick

So! im a junior in high school and freshman year my parents separated (over christmas break no less!!!) me and my 2 sisters moved in with my mom in a new house. it went pretty well for a couple years, if we ignore how much i resented my dad during that time. Then around this time last year my mom...went crazy... NOW I do NOT say that lightly!! and I know you aren't supposed to say that but she refuses to see a psychologist or ANYONE because she does not believe she is mentally ill. now let me back track. The issues: paranoia mostly, and a sorta detachment from reality? not very good medical terms but I will lay it out for you all. My mom believes that there is something called The Group which is made out of EVERY PERSON she had EVER known who are trying to destroy her life and steal me and my sisters from her. uhh and imma explain kinda how it escalated. It started so small scale that like, i didn't connect the dots to some of it originally. Probably really early it was like, she thought this couple that lived up the street was like "keeping an eye on us" for the property manager (bc we rented) but she only mentioned it once, i didnt think much of it until wayyy later. then it was like, stuff at her job. She thought her Team Manager and this other lady were being like super passive aggressive but like.. good cop/bad cop?? all the time with her. I should also mention that she started like spending all of the time in her room working on work stuff that she wasnt getting done in the day and just obsessing over the tiniest details to an unhealthy amount. eventually this lead to her being "let go" but she did get a severance package (which saved us right up to the week before my birthday in April) in March my uncle on my dad's side died of lung cancer that developed into brain cancer and mom mom and him were really close, which im pretty sure made things worse. And my mom started drinking which was especially weird bc she literally NEVER drank, like she just legit didn't enjoy it. and she started smoking a LOT of pot. which isnt legal in my state. (no dis to normal smokers but my mom was/is seriously addicted). my mom would refuse to turn on our wifi, my phone didnt have service at the time so..if i didnt have wifi i didnt have a phone..and it stopped me from doing a lot of my school work. she believed that The Group was stealing her info through the wifi. Oh and that they had invisible cameras in our house. and that people were entering our house to plant messages and "color stories". and that they were trying to sex traffic me and my sisters. she regularly started taking my sisters' phones and picking apart every little thing. she had never even like, told us any restrictions on the internet before. never looked at our phones. nothing like that ever. it was a HUGE switch. we left to stay with our Aunt, who we are very very close with, and who lives about 2 hours away at the very end of June. we were there until September 1st. Well, I say we, my older sister had been at a college tour and then was staying with cousins who went to that school for about 4 weeks total and after she came back stayed with my mom for about 2, maybe 3 weeks. Um, during which we finally got my mom hospitalized however she was only there for 2 days, rather than the week they had tild my sister who at they point was responsible for her medical stuff while she was being evaluated. they didnt tell my sister that she was discharged. um its 2am now and im shaking so imma break it off there... thats only about half of it..... comment if you really want the rest of it...?
